Not sure if anybody out there is aware of this, but GoDaddy pays $15 per click for the keyword "domains". Why do they pay so much if the #2 advertiser merely pays $3 a click. Are they unaware of that or do they have no idea how this advertising works?

Right now, they are paying more than the top paying keywords such as "auto insurance" which is only $11.75 per click on Overture.

Its possible that the $13.00 PPC will be corrected within the next 48 hours. IF they do pay $13 a click, which I'm pretty sure they do not; $13 for a potential lifetime member is nothing. Think of how much you have spent on domain names in your lifetime.

It's similar to the proxy bidding on eBay.

GoDaddy's bid will be only the minimum increment of the second bid.
So for example, if the second bid is $3.41, GoDaddy's "real" bid would be $3.42

some interesting stuff going on with godaddy there. Maybe those clicks result in bundled purchases at godaddy's site, thereby giving godaddy more value from that click(and income). And they know they are in one of the top best registrars, so they are probably confident they'll get that clicker to buy a bunch of stuff from them.
