GoDaddy payment options.

I was finally able to setup a new bank account a few days ago. I got verified with paypal and I thought everything was all well and good. I went to buy a name from Godaddy and they said I do not have sufficent funds to something to that effect. Right now in paypal i don't have a debit card hooked up (the bank has not sent me one) so I just have my bank acct hooked up. Will godaddy direct debit the money from there, or do I have to wait for the debit card to come?

Worst case scenario: You should be able to fund your Good as Gold Godaddy account with a wire transfer.

I think you'd need to fund either your Paypal or your Godaddy Good as Gold Balance, which will require a debit card, credit card, or bank wire.

Right now I need it at TDNAM. I put in a transfer from my bank acct to paypal. Simply becuase it will take less time for that to get there than the debit card to come to my house. But either way I will probably not be able to get these 2 names

TDNAM gives you 2 entire days to pay after the close, so you might be able to

Can PayPal draw funds from your bank account without delay? If not, I don't think Godaddy will accept such payments.

They can. It will leave your account today, but it takes 4 business days to enter your Paypal account. So you are looking at probably Wednesday, if you do it before 3:00 today, which I think is the cutoff time.

bank to paypal for a godaddy purchase. (I keep my paypal very low)
I just go through Godaddy checkout, and pick the "paypal on file"
option (even though there is nothing in paypal) it completes
the order (the domain is mine) and when I look at paypal
transactions I can see where there wasn't funds, so paypal
initiated the transfer request to my bank. In the meantime
the domain is functionable, if something goes wrong with
the transfer, as it takes about 4 days on their end
it's paypal you'd need to deal with.

I do have a creditcard on file with paypal, (an old one)
but it has never been used. They only go to my bank account
for funds.

I thought that if you had insufficient funds in your PayPal account they simply Direct Debit your bank account. That's the whole point of linking your PayPal account to your bank account (which a lot of people object too). It's saved my ass a couple of times.

exactly. the whole "verified" status wouldn't mean anything if they can't ensure getting funds through a bank account. whether or not your account has a debit/credit card attached to it, paypal should still be able to access funds in the account.

If you have a verified PayPal account you can use PayPal with GoDaddy but there is a sign up process you have to go thru.

It does not take long.

PayPal will withdraw the funds from your account NOT GoDaddy.

You can also apply for a debit card from PayPal.

It is only good for withdrawing money from your PayPal account.

You don't need it for Godaddy.

Call GoDaddy customer support if you need help with the PayPal sign up process.

I spoke with Godaddy.com support. They said that they have it setup with paypal so that if you do not have a credit or debit card on file you cannot buy anything. Regardless of whether or not you have a bank acct setup with paypal.

that's odd. my paypal account is not setup with either a debit or credit card, but i added a bank account to it and my account is considered "verified". i pay godaddy using my paypal account just fine.

I dont know. I dont think its right, but for now I am going to pay using an e-check and once the debit card arrives I will go from there.

i'm wondering, is your paypal account "verified"? it could be that that's what godaddy is looking for in a paypal account. i also think that different countries have different requirements when it comes to verifying account. in my case (canada), all i needed was to attach a bank account to it.

Yes I am verified. Its no big deal. I got the names I wanted using the "Pay by Check" option.
