"We may be the #1 domain registrar worldwide, but we're not resting on our laurels. At GoDaddy.com(R), we're always looking for ways to add to your domain ownership experience, from our products, service and support to your satisfaction. Here's the latest:"

"Ad-Supported Hosting is now FREE with every new domain name registration, transfer or renewal! That's right; every time you register, transfer or renew a domain name, you'll receive a Hosting Plan with 5-page Web site builder, 50MB of disk space and professionally designed templates -- all included with your purchase!"

That is nice for those of us who don't have a dedicated server. It will be much easier to do business now. Has anyone else received this email?

Did they say how much bandwidth?
Gee, not a bad deal. And those templates can get pretty spendy as well.
Cool news nevertheless. :)

What do their ads look like? Can you put adsense on pages with their ads as well?

To be honest anything FREE is usually rubbish so i'd sooner not have it!

Eh, I just renewed a domain name - but I haven't heard squat about any free hostings or templates. No emails, no anything. This was over an hour ago too. Anyone here know where in my account I can actually put this stuff to use?

I can not see why all of you guys are so excited? You will not be allowed to use your own ads or your own AdSense pub id on your free 5 pages. This will be Godaddy's own AdSense account and all income will go to them! What you will get is just competitor ads on your website...

This is nice news, for those who don't have accounts that can support multiple domains, so they won't have to purchase hosting for each minisite.

IMO just another "free" deal to maintain GD marketshare untill reg fees will rise.

But my mayor concern is:
This offer will propagate to WWD resellers as usaually in the next 2 month.
OK so far so good, but will resellers get a revenue share on the "ad supported" pages ?

I'm not to excited over this myself. I've used GD's paid hosting before and it was terriblre, so i can imagine what their free hosting is going to be like. I guess it might prove useful to some though.
