GoDaddy - How Long Can Stay Domain In Basket

I have a domain in my GoDaddy basket but cannot find a working coupon code.
Somewhere I read that some coupon categories can be used once in 72 hours interval.
I wonder what will happen if I wait for some days with a domain in the basket.
Whois shows its status "available"

Its just in your basket and can probably stay for ever. Godaddy has not put any sort of "reservation" on your domain name and the domain is still free-to-reg everywhere.

I've read somewhere that godaddy has (or had) a grace period during which you can cancel a just-purchased registration

Anyone knows if it still exists (may be at other registrars too) ?
