Hey guys, i just registered a domain yesterday for a company at godaddy, i want to know push it into there account, but it always comes up with an error. The domain is unlocked so no problems there, is there some wait godaddy has from the day of registration till when it accepts transfers of the domain?

what error did they say? 60-days-no-transfer-limitition applies to transfers between two registrars, I think.
And if some of the configures changed, you need to wait until 24-48 hrs later when it is active again.
I am not sure, but hope it can help.

There's no limit to transfer names to another person's Go Daddy account, as I've transferred them minutes after I've registered them before. However, you just can't transfer out to another registrar within the 60 day rule, however that's standard at all registrars as it's a policy set by ICANN. :)

Could you be more specific on what kind of an error it was.....what did it say specifically so we can help you further. :tu:

All the Best,
Chris

ok i went to godaddy, logged in, went to "transfer", typed in the domain name. Then it said; Transfer Error:
XXXXXXXXX.COM is unavailable for transfer. Why unavailable?

It has a list of reasons why it could be unable;

QUESTION:

When can I transfer a domain name to GoDaddy.com?

ANSWER:

ICANN regulations prohibit transferring a domain name that has been registered or previously transferred within the last 60 days.

Most registrars will not allow transfers of domains that are within 10 days of expiration, or that have already expired. If your name is within 10 days of expiration, or has already expired, we recommend that you first renew your domain with your current registrar.

When a domain name expires it enters a 45 day grace period during which it may still be renewed. However, if you renew your domain name during this grace period you may still be prevented from transferring it until the full 45 days have passed. Check with your current registrar regarding their renewal and transfer policies during this grace period.

If a domain name is locked at the registry it is unavailable for transfer, check with your current registrar to see if your domain is locked.

If your domain is already registered here, then it cannot be transferred to us.

Some registries restrict the use of profanity in the domain name, this could also restrict a transfer."

I can't see anything here that my domain has a problem with, maybe i went to the wrong place to transfer? I logged in, went to "domain names" then "transfer"

It sounds like you are trying to do the process that you do when you transfer a name to Go Daddy from a different registrar. You said you registered it at Go Daddy, so if it's already there then it would not be possible to transfer it there. If the name is at GD and you want to transfer it to another person's Go Daddy account then follow the below steps:

1) First sign into your account and go to My Domains
2) Next put a checkmark in the box by the name you want to transfer to the new owner
3) Then select Change Account
4) You'll then need to put in the new owner's info, such as name, address, phone, etc.
5) They will receive an email from Go Daddy with a "Transaction ID" and "Security Code" they need to insert on their account to complete the transfer.
6) You've successfully transferred your domain to the new owner!

However, if you don't want to ask for their info in step 4, then just make something up for their name, address, etc. and they can change it once it's in their account. But you need to use their valid email address so they'll receive the transfer codes from Go Daddy.

Best of Luck,
Chris
