GoDaddy Expiration Notice on Forwarded Domains? Check Your Domains!

OK, so I have the NameServers on some of my domains set to BB, I started getting emails from BB saying my domains aren't being forwarded so I check on them and here is what I'm seeing:

A GoDaddy Landing Page:

I am going to be contacting my rep about this but I thought I'd post a warning to check on your own domains in case you have them forwarded to a landing page or parked somewhere thinking they're being advertised as for sale, instead visitors are seeing the page above.

Now I have to check hundreds of other domains expiring in the next few weeks to see what exactly is being displayed on them. Had I not received the automated BB emails I would've never known for weeks this is what visitors are seeing on my domains that have weeks left before they expire.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I hate that about GD. They start like 2 months before expiration. It's really crappy.

Yikes. Could that possibly be customizable for (to be seen by) the domain owner only?

Anyway, have never seen that before (gladly). More than a little worrisome, and not a nice move on the part of GD, IMO.

I have so many domains with them, they actually call me. I tell the rep the same thing everytime, that I am well aware of my renewal dates.

This can't be for real ? !

What if you had an ecommerce website on the domain ?

Exactly. It sure as h3ll makes little sense, it's such a horrible idea.

Hopefully it's a bug and not something they think people should be ok with. Just giving a heads up if you have domains forwarded like I did on these.

There have been a lot of bugs lately at Go Daddy, so, perhaps, this is one of them.

Yup, true :)
Yesterday I have bought 200+ on GD and few of them have a wrong date 2/2/16-17 reg. and exp.
It is not a big deal really but I start to have some doubts about GD :)

I don't think it's a bug. It must have something to do with forwarding your domain and especially while using GoDaddy's servers as a default. In which case, they probably have rights to put up such content.

I have a domain that expires in 3 days and it goes where it should.

We don't change DNS until after the domain name is expired. All registrars are required to take noticeable steps to ensure their customers know the name is expired. It is odd that this would happen before the name expired. Have your rep look into why it happened. He will know the name and see all the notes etc.

That's probably not a glitch there are various reasons. Registration length of 365 days for instance and this year is a leap year. Different timing based on where the registry is and when the request is fulfilled, etc etc,

Unfortunately Godaddy has been having a lot of issues lately. Many will remember going back a few years when Godaddy developed a bad rep and many people jumped ship to different registrars.

I stuck with them and they seem to have gotten their act together, and personally I have had mostly a good experience in the last year or so, especially when contacting them by phone or chat. Most of the time they are able to resolve problems quickly.

Lately there have been a lot of problems with their system, one being the bulk name tool which is completely messed up.

They have made some upgrades to their system in recent months and apparently have not yet worked out the bugs.

Let's hope they get their act together soon.

I haven't much luck with the bulk name tool lately too. Not excited about now having to go thru auction listings in the closeout section (is it a closeout or an auction?) or constantly getting discount messages that I can never use because I have a membership. for example: I just purchased serveral .ws cost me 500.00 two days later
the same purchase would be 250.00 without membership. Not good.
