I have received a second offer for a domain name. They are still below my target price but my concern relates to the IP address. I have sold domains to people in many foreign countries but I am a little suspicious on this particular one. While Escrow.com is generally viewed as a much safer way to transfer domains than PayPal I have still heard theoretical arguments that the buyer could put privacy registration and then claim they never got the domain. My thought was to insist on a Godaddy push but it would be nice if Godaddy offered an escrow service for Godaddy-registered names when the buyer came through an external platform such as an Efty landing page.

It was my impression that Escrow.com workers have the ability and the connections to verify with GoDaddy staff whether the transfer took place. Even when the buyer adds privacy.

You can use Sedo @ 3% commission (you push the domain to Sedo's account).

For 13+ years of selling domains I have never allowed an external transfer unless I knew the buyer. You buy a domain from me and you will take the push at GoDaddy or my GoDaddy reseller account reason I keep my domains with the most popular end user registrar as most will already have an account there.

I've heard the argument for years even from some old school domainers that I don't agree with what if they don't change the whois etc... but this is why it's important to...

A) Push the domain to the current registrar and don't transfer it out to an obscure registrar
B) Use a licensed escrow service

If someone was attempting to go shady I personally know people at GoDaddy and the major licensed Escrow services do as well so not hard for them to make a phone call and see where the domain is along with being insured as well. Transfer the domain away and things go shady and they might not be able to help ya. I've been pretty exclusive with Escrow.com over the years but now that Brandon Abbey has moved to Payoneer Escrow I'll be giving them a test on my next one as we've talked about this situation many years ago and that's where insured and they push so many transactions through that it's nothing more than a phone call to sort it out pending ya do the push so it remains locked there for 60 days over a transfer to a registrar that might not cooperate in investigations.
