On June 30th, myself and a member of this forum entered into an Escrow transaction for a domain.

The buyer said he had wired the money on July 4th. It was International so I knew this would take a bit.

It wasn't until July 13th, after my constant asking him to, did the buyer decide to update the Escrow and say funds were sent.

I have called Escrow.com today and they say they still have not received the funds and to contact the buyer.

The last time we talked was on July 13th. He has been on since then and I have constantly IMed him and tried to get in touch, but I receive no answer. I have his number, but unfortunately, I have no long distance.

What do I do?

Sounds like Buyers Remorse to me... and Since he hasnt paid. Not much you can do. Honestly, for the trouble and the energy it would take to throw a stink, your better off moving on. You definetly arent the first person to lose a sale, even though escrow terms were agreed upon.

Hey Justin,

Thanks. I had no plans of trying to "make" him pay. What I meant is, he agreed to pay the fee. What if I cancel and he tries to make me look like the bad guy around here by saying I stuck him with a fee and then cancelled the transaction?

Honestly, just let Escrow know that you have been unable to reach the buyer for a week, and he doesnt respond to your emails or online messages. Ask them if they recommend closing the escrow and moving forward or if they would contact him.

Thats what I would do... but honestly, I wouldnt feel guilty about closing escrow on someone who does not respond, and is clearly not being honest.

I guess I'm just a nice guy. haha.

I even turned down an offer from someone else the same day (and he was going to PayPal me the cash instantly).

That's what I get for keeping to my word.

My Philosophy is first to pay, first to get.
