Ok, This one has me a bit confused.
#1 I owned a domain with a creation date of 20-May with Godaddy
#2 I have received final reminder to renew the domain on 31-May
#3 I had the domain access in my account control panel on 1-July, which is when I transferred out to Dynadot. The process in Dynadot showed ok and whois showed epp ok.
#4 However, seems Dynadot takes close to a day to send authorization request to the registrant on record, which by the time they sent the request, it went to the new registrant on record as seen in #.5
#5 Meanwhile, along the way, the domain which in expired status is won in the Godaddy auction (either expired or closeout, did not follow that)
#6 I see the whois changed to the new registrant within Godaddy on 1-July (possibly a matter of hours after i initiated my own transfer request)
I know it's all related to my waiting till the very last minute and nothing to do with any of other parties and no, I was not trying to get an auction appraisal. Just sheer laziness in managing a portfolio.
1. I am just curious on how a domain where I was able to unlock, get the authorization code emailed and have transfer initiated with another registrar, could still be pushed to the auction winner? Quite possible that these processes are all automated and work independent of each other.
2. My possible solution is just cancel the Dyandot transfer and move on.
Say what, guys?
