:hi:
I must say that I have just had a rather good experience as a seller with the GoDaddy Domain Buy Service. I was approached by the service acting on behalf of a client to buy a domain of mine. They offered $100 for the domain and I counter offered with $250, they accepted. However I then realised that I had the domain as a buy it now at TDNAM for only $90, I had to cancel this before the sale could proceed so they could upload it at the agreed price. I also had it at Sedo & Afternic for $150.
My question is if you employed the professional services of a compnay to aquire a domain for you would you not expect them to check these other areas out for the domain first? A simple whois.sc on the name would have shown it for sale at $150 at Afternic & Sedo whilst GoDaddy themselves own TDNAM where it was listed at $90 buy it now. Whilst I am stoked at getting a far better price for the domain it does leave me wondering why anyone would use the services of GoDaddy to aquire domains when if a few simple steps were taken the buyer could have saved $160+GoDaddy commission fees.
Has anyone else had any experience with this or other domain acquisition services? Are there any advantages I'm not seeing opposed to doing it yourself?
Looking forward to your opinions
