No,
The Discount Domain Club is the rock bottom pricing.
You cannot add coupons to your Discount Club membership.
it's really a great deal, anyways.
If you reg. 30 domains, at a savings of $3.00 a piece,
It already paid for itself!

Take Care,
Red Rock!

Thats what I am talking about. With DDC .NET is $6.99, but with coupon I can reg it for $6. I don't see what is the cach of DDC.

Are you saying to reg. a .net you can do so,
cheaper than the DDC club price?

I've ordered a few .nets
but usually they are on the tail end of larger .com orders.
I guess I should start paying closer attention.

after buying DDC last year I haven't been checking the coupons so I am not sure what's the lowest coupon out there ... but I am sure that the DDC pricing is better (with the exception of some SALE prices , see last paragraph of post)

but ... the actual advantage of DDC is with renewals (besides the lower price for new regs)

.com renewals are $7.05 ($6.95 + $0.20) like new regs ... both the executive account renewals ($7.38) and coupon renewals are more expensive than $7.05

if you know the lowest price you can get for .com renewals with coupons (similarly with other TLDs) , you can calculate whether the DDC is profitable for you by ...

1. find the gain-per-domain (subtract the DDC pricing from the coupon pricing)

2. divide the DDC membership cost ($89.99 or $69.99 for executive accounts) with the gain-per-domain

3. compare the amount found with the number-of-domains-you-are-planning-to-renew-in-the-next-year

if the amount found is higher than the number-of-domains-you-are-planning-to-renew-in-the-next-year ... then stick with coupons/executive

but ... if the number found is lower than the number-of-domains-you-are-planning-to-renew-in-the-next-year ... then it is more profitable to buy DDC

eg. for executive pricing the .com renewal is $7.38

1. $7.38 - $7.05 = $0.33

2. $69.99 / $0.33 = ~212

3. therefore if you have an executive account and plan to renew more than 212 domains in the next year is is better if you buy DDC

(note: price hikes like the one in last November and the one in next November affect all prices proportionally)

lastly , if you have a coupon that has a lower price than DDC and you enter it at checkout ... the lower price will be applied

One must ask zems why he want's DDC for buying .nets? How many nets does he buy a year compared to .coms? Also. Why on earth buy .nets at all from GD when you can buy them considerably cheaper at Fabulous, Moniker, and Name.

Name.com not as cheap as godaddy.com or mydomain.com in terms of renewals. The plus is name.com provide free private whois registration, however not everyone required private whois service. For Moniker and fabulous you need to have high volume of domain then only can bring down the price.

actually .com regs with DDC are $6.85 (+$0.20) ... post #8 had a small typo

the thing about DDC is renewals ... which again are $6.85 (+$0.20)

either with an executive account or coupons , renewals are more expensive

if you are have > 212 .coms at GoDaddy the savings from the year's renewals pay for the DDC membership

"212" is for executive accounts , for regular accounts the numbers are a little different (check post #8 for the formula)

also , "212" does not calculate the $0.10 savings on new regs or the $15 cancelation fee for CashParking (see next paragraph)

for more domains the savings from renewals are even greater

Red Rock - one small note ... the free year of GoDaddy Parking has a $15 cancelation fee when you want to cancel the CashParking service

alternatively , they will charge a 1-year CashParking renewal for $107 (!!!)

therefore , unless you make money out of the CashParking , be careful to cancel in time ... $15 is better than $107 lol

I could not find pricing for the Basic Reseller.

thanks, that's where I was looking when I said I could not find the pricing.
by pricing, I mean the DOMAIN pricing for the Basic Reseller.

so as y'all don't think this is totally off thread topic, with the Basic Reseller annual account fee being ~$99, and the DDC account fee being ~$90, I was wanting to compare domain pricing between the two.

If it's close, I might consider a reseller instead of the DCC.

{edit} fwiw, I tried the "request buy rates" link and didn't get the info. {/edit}

if you got more than 200-250 domains at GoDaddy you can get an executive account ... DDC with the executive account is $69.99 ... I think reseller plans are also lower than the regular price (I guess about 10-15%)

bear in mind though that with the reseller plan the domains are at the reseller account (specifically at WildWestDomains.com) and not at GoDaddy

this might influence some sales because most people (and end-users) know and trust GoDaddy and might not know WildWestDomains ... or prefer their names at GoDaddy and not at some "random" reseller

also , to "move" a domain from a reseller account to GoDaddy someone must pay for a transfer since it is a transfer and not a push (technically GoDaddy and WildWestDomains are two different registrars , both under the GoDaddy Group)
