I think it is definitely a good deal. But you have to think, it's a great deal this year because you get the credit. You will not get it next year when you renew your subscription again, though, so you''ll be paying full price.
HOwever, IMO, it is still a good deal for a turnkey reseller plan, BUT only if you have a good plan on how you are going to sell your services. The domain reg and hosting markets are VERY saturated with sellers. Don't think you are going to sell domain regs to domain traders on this forum. Many will not buy from WWD resellers for various reasons. But even if they do, you have to sell at rock bottom prices to them anyway or they will jsut go elsewhere and will most likely not buy extra services if they do reg a domain from you (extra services is where the profit comes, not in discounted domain regs).
IMO, if you are going to try and build your business on PPC alone, I think you will find out that that is not going to work out unless you have a lot of captial as you will most likely spend around $10-20 per acquisition. Meaning, you will most likely not make a profit from a non-domain trader customer for a few months, that is, if they do not abandon you and they buy extra services. Advertising costs in a saturated market need to be looked at on a future profit basis, not on an immediate profit basis.
From my assessment of the domain reg/hosting biz, if you are not going to be marketing your venture locally and in person to local businesses, you will most likely find yourself out of busienss with a year or 2, if you even last that long.
Edited to add...
Well, I hate to rain on this parade but did you read the fine print? I thought it was too good to be true and in fact it appears that way...
Fine print:
Promotional credit must be applied to a new AdWords account within 15 days of creating the account and is valid only for new Google AdWordsโข customers with assisted signup accounts ("Jumpstart Accounts") or self-managed signup. Advertisers will be charged for advertising that exceeds the promotional credit. Advertisers will need to suspend their ads if they do not wish to receive additional charges beyond the free credit amount. Subject to ad approval, valid registration and acceptance of the Google AdWordsโข Program standard terms and conditions. The promotional credit is non-transferable and may not be sold or bartered. Offer may be revoked at any time for any reason by Google Inc. One promotional credit per customer. Advertisers with self-managed signup accounts are subject to a $5 activation fee that will be deducted from the promotional credit. Advertisers with assisted signup accounts can apply the promotional credit and receive free ad clicks after their Jumpstart prepayment balance is depleted. Expires December 31st, 2005
So, seeing how Google does not allow multiple AdWords accounts, unless you have never signed up for an AdWords account before, you cannot use the WWD Google Adwords credit.

Take 1/2 of $250 back in cash and get the reseller at basically 1/2 off.
There is no cash equivalent. It is merely credit. Use it or lose it.
