This is my first post on the forum, so... hi!

Regarding the godaddy backorder - has it EVER successfully captured a half decent domain for anyone?

I more or less have put a backorder on every few days and still no luck. 'backordered was not captured successfully'.

It's a double-edged sword: you'll probably only win names that are held by GoDaddy, and, even when you do, they'll go into TDNAM auction. So, I would advise against GD backorders.

I did win a drop with them on a dictionary-word.com, but it was a while ago and I doubt the competition for the name would have been fierce.

Their backorder is very bad.

They keep failing my backorders everyday and all the names get grabbed and parked @ Pool.

you cant expect a GD backorder to compete against pool and snap!

GD backorders have caught me alot of LLL.us, so im happy enough with them

LLL.us are going to TDnam expired auction. isn't it?

I have 1 backorder that hasn't caught any name yet. It's been like a year since I had it.

I had one backorder credit which failed to catch 2 domains.

The third domain I tried to catch was actually caught and traffic tested for a few days, then dropped. GoDaddy then was able to secure the domain. It was a waste of money, in my opinion.

I had tried 20 times with my 1 single credit.

they are good for not so hot names - If you don't want let somebody to hand reg your name before you, use godaddy backorder :) They catched for me one of my favorite names :)

This is fairly true. If you want to get a name that isn't going to generate traffic and it is something you like just for personal purposes, then sure, use GoDaddy. But if you're willing to spend a lot of money on the domain name, it is going to auction at the big snappers.
