I've just had a few domains appraised at GoDaddy.com and I'm slightly scepticle about thier reply... The domain I expected to be worth the most.. returned as $29-$80... the ones I was thinking of getting rid off seem to be worth a lot more than I thought...

BUT - how accurate/close are they with thier estimations? Lets say that they appraise my domain at $1000-$3000... do you think I could get atleast $500 for it?

Where else could I go next to get a second opinion... and if it is worth quite a bit.. then where is the best place to go to sell it?

I like Godaddy, most of my names are there, but do not waste your money on their appraisals.

A friend and client who has a solid 7 figure name, got it appraised at Gd for a laugh, and it came back at $550! He has had 6 figure offers on another forum for that name.

They are absolutely, totally, completely inaccurate (and a waste of money). :imho:

Some of your best appraisals will come from NP.

Godaddy appraisals are almost never accurate. However, if you have a premium name running in an TDNAM auction, I'd recommend getting a certified appraisal to encourage more bids.

That was better... thanks Jason, uofadp and CriminalOrigins for the replies. I have put my domains up here on NP for appraisals in the past.. but over the past 4-5 months getting an appraisal has been a bit of a mission here! Too many people wanting appraisals and not enough giving.

I only chose GoDaddy for appraisals because I bought a domain worth $9.99... but a non domain purchase makes the reg $1.99 - so I bought the appraisal... theres for my domain was $1.99+$4.99 (plus 10% discount) instead of $9.99.

Anyway, I was a bit shocked to have my domain appraised at $3000+ since I only expected around $400~
