Is anybody facing Godaddy Account Push Issues?

Kindly advise as most of us have been facing trouble while pushing a domain name to another user at GD! :(

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
GoDaddy are tinkering with their push technology, it seems like daily. A push today seems always slightly different from a push yesterday. GoDaddy don't help themselves by making their options ambiguous. Couple this with domain owners who cannot understand what GoDaddy's options actually mean (in part because of the ambiguity and partly the blind faith of the pusher that GoDaddy are looking after their interests. Which they are not). It's a recipe for disaster. Disaster meaning the domain is locked for another 60 days.

This is not just a new phenomena. But from all these messages. It seems like they've reached breaking point. Where even experienced pushers cannot even push a domain. Oh, isn't life wonderful that this happens over the Easter Holiday period.

I try to NEVER accept a GoDaddy push, unless there are extreme circumstances for it. (Like a mistake on my part which required a push to complete my obligations). I would say that I've probably accepted a push less than 10 times in the last year. In approximately 80% of the cases, the push was not completed without the domain being locked for a new 60 days. All have required lengthy discussions with their call center, dealing with support staff insufficiently trained to actually help. I simply refuse to buy a domain which cannot be transferred away. However much I would like it.

It's crazy. Every other registrar on the planet can perform a push to another account without all this mumbo jumbo which GD put you thru.

I wish you all the best getting your pushes completed. And of course a Happy Easter :)

I recently pushed 22 names. Received 2 emails asking me to approve the changes, but those emails only showed 10 of the names. However, the recipient stated he received them all and accepted the push. On my end, the domains still appeared on my All Domains list as Pending Account Changes. It wasn’t until the following day that I received emails confirming the change of account.

GoDaddy has managed to transform what once was a seamless quick process into a headache.

BOTTOM LINE....Pushing domains with the new BETA layout is still a bloody time wasting nightmare and just does not work. Period. .

The "old legacy" layout continues to work well with no problems. Go daddy needs to leave it alone and not threaten to take it away as they are doing now.. IMO Big, big mistake if GD removes this!!!

Soooooooooo Namepros members, when pushing domains from you to another GD member do this~~

*Bring up the "old" MANAGE DOMAINS screen showing all your domains.
*Now find the domain you want to move to another member and make
your check mark by the domain name.
*Go to the "More" area, then to to "Begin Account Change"

Now proceed on as you have done for many years......
************************************************************************************************

IF you do not know how to bring up the "old screen" do this--->

Go the "Manage Domains" screen.
On the far right corner of your screen you will see 2 sets of 3 broken
horizontal lines, The last one is "beta", the other one is the old
version. Click on the old version. You will see your screen change to
the the old version

Good luck

Sorry. I have been tagged and PM'd a lot over the weekend. I had a few pages of stuff to work through and am trying to answer them all.

GoDaddy support helped me solve the problem. The email link didn't work, but going to https://dcc.godaddy.com/transfers/in allowed me to accept the push and change the contact details.

That made me laugh out loud :) But it's not a laughing matter. I FEEL your pain. But what is he doing buying an english domain if he doesn't understand english. Or are you registering italian domains, these days :)

You’ll probably laugh again.. this one is a popular finance related name and not sure how it got interest from all the way from Italy 🇮🇹 lol

Seems like issue has been resolved for most of us :)

sorry...GD to GD account pushes is what I was referring to, not registrar transfers. But my point was just to mention the unlocking and privacy removal since I've accidentally left those on and had an issue before. But GoDaddy's system definitely has glitches.

This is one of the downsides to working with such a large company. Someone there know's how to dig in to the issue but getting that person on the phone to help you is the problem.

Have you tried asking the phone agent to escalate the issue to the more technical support people or a supervisor? Sounds like they should know about the problem. If you're experiencing it, there has to be hundreds of other people experiencing the same thing.

We rolled out a new change of account last week. The goal was to simplify the process and to change the back end architecture to a new one. The goal was to make it faster and better, but there were a couple things that didn't work right.
The thought was that most customers do not do change of accounts all the time so it should be an easier process where you enter the email address of the person you want to give the domain to. If they have an account with us we let them know. They click accept and you get the email to accept and the domain moves.
The emails didn't work right and that was fixed last week after we rolled this out. There are couple other changes coming shortly that should further make this process smoother and hopefully at the end of the day easier than it had been.
As far as the emails go we have to send some of them. ICANN mandates that we notify the gaining and losing party of the WHOIS when the contacts change. This is a security measure they put in place.
The goal is to get the process easier for a non domain expert to move and accept domains.

@Domainstore - This is not my thread. I was only responding to @convertcontent's pushing me about my policy of not accepting GoDaddy domain pushes. Then @Joe Styler chimed in stating there had been some changes, which didn't work quite right. Hopefully when things have settled down, and the process is simplified, I may change that policy in the future. But knowing GoDaddy and pushes, I'm not holding my breath that a simple push is without a fresh 60 day hold (except in the circumstances you outlined) , and with the change of whois registrant, by default. And the instruction changes on pushes are clear and unambiguous to both the pusher and receiver. Where actually following the instructions give you the intended result, both parties desired. This is not too much to ask, or expect.

I’ve a sale pending at Undeveloped and domain is at Godaddy, and just hoping that I don’t have to go through this until next week, when all comes back to normal or I’m effd for life because this one is a five figure sale and buyer is Italian who doesn’t understand a single word of English!! FML

That made me laugh out loud :) But it's not a laughing matter. I FEEL your pain. But what is he doing buying an english domain if he doesn't understand english. Or are you registering italian domains, these days :)

Just sold another name for $2500 through Godaddy Auctions, and since the domain name was already at GD, customer service took it away without me doing anything ;)

Congrats! :)

It’s nothing to do with registrar transfers bud, but within Godaddy account to account push.
