Give out of 500,000 dollars!!!

Hi folks,

What will you guys do if you are given 500,000$ and asked to do a business in domains/Internet related industry?

Would like to hear different than saying that you would buy 10 ultra premium names and sit on them.

Would you start another snapnames or would you monopoly any new extentions of the domains or what will you do? two or more sentences are appreciated than single word/sentence. Of course, the venture should turn out to be profitable in near time and ROI should be decent.

Depending on interest, I may later run a contest/poll for some prizes.

well, i would put that money to use, by renting a warehouse, add a 100mbit connection and some servers, and woah! A hosting company

I would have an online game be developed, sorta like neopets, but 100% 3D, it would be you walking around and dueling people have a house... where other people can see it, i could get into a lot of details, the development costs would run around 350k for it to be totally complete, i would only want it to be 100% complete, and developed enough for me to finish it... the graphics is something i cannot do, and then i would get 10 colocation servers for the game. Of course this would be a paid game... but not an expensive one, $3-$8/month or something like that.

And then the rest of the money would be there for server payments till the game gets big enough and gets enough profit for it to take off and being able to start generating profit.

Well, neopets.com is a text based game... this would be 3D game. Id take the game play from neopets, and make it a 3D game basicly... and you'd only understand that if you have played neopets...

if its me, i would establish a big corporate site . and go through postings for staff and start a outlet for MNCs for out sourcing work. am sure if it worked ,turning $5,00,000 to $50,00,000 won't be a big problem....:lol:

I'd diversify the money in several different areans. I'd look to invest a certan percentage in stock related to the domain industry or other online industries. I'd probably invest about a 1/10 of the entire sum there.

I'd go on a premium names run with a budget of roughly 100k and would look for alternative domains to the .com market. I'd try and pick up premium .biz, .us, and .tv names. Perhaps even a .info or two.

I'd invest the final amount ~350k on a new domain registration site marketing it more specifically to the alternate ccTLD and TLD extensions. I'd also look into starting up a Sedo style wesbite under the same brand if the budget was there.

The stock obviously would be a long term investment. I'd use the other two investments domains as a medium range investment with decent returns in a good year or three.

I'd probably start a hosting company and branch out into other related industries. Maybe, advertising and search engines.
