Get links to your site from relevant high traffic, good PR sites which are already indexed by Google and other top search engines.

For starters don't submit your site to any search engines. Directories, yes, search engines, no. The search engines will automatically pick up your site and quicker if you go about right than when hand submitting. All of the search engine submission sites and tools are a waste of time and money.

Good luck with the site!

Agreed.

I see a lot of people pushing those autosubmit sites, and I'm not trying to criticize people's web sites, but I have had better results, by far, by just allowing the search engines to find my sites naturally (by following links) than submitting them.

so you mean just submit to the directories in order to create backlinks?

Exactly.

Personally, I'd stay away from reciprocal linking at first too. And never reciprocal link with a site that is not related to your own.

Directoried != Traffic
You want traffic? Toplists.

I would also add that putting the link in your forum signatures is a big help too. But then that forces you to be active on the forum to get the link more active.

Forum signature links can be extremely helpful. I had one of my websites go from PR0 to PR5 just because I added it to all of my signatures. :)

added the link + 3 of the pages. hopefully I can get a higher PR when it updates.

The more unique content the better.

Yes (as long as you follow their rules) but unique content is better than republishing articles.

Unique content and targetted surfers is the best but if you don't have any don't worry

The quickest method i found is to buy a link for just one month from a PR7 or PR8 site
Your site will be in no time to search engines but from that point you should build your site's linking strategy

The links they worth a lot are the ones you get from sites that you don't link to them
In other words one way linking is the best.

Making your surfers to recommend and respect your site is the ultimate goal for any webmaster

Another strategy is to make a blog within your site to get some "blog traffic" into the site - or make an external blog on the topic, get some links happening with the blog, submit to technorati etc, and link the blog to your site (if external). Agree with post above, best is to try and get quality one way links pointing to your site. Interesting or informative content will go a long way towards that end.

ok here comes the dumb part of my brain what is a blog?

I just wanted to start earning a little adsence income so far $0 for 2 months about 20 uniques a day (yes I know it isnt much) Ill be happy to see 2c a day

also I will have a arcade site and a joke site soon I just wanted to know something about yahoo answers I use to put my link in with the answer so that it created a backlink is that a good way to get backlinks?? I will try that with my arcade and joker site as I guess the answers section is for people who have to much time on their hands to answer bullshit.

heres whats happening with directory submissions

www.pokertutorials.info is being submitted to 400 directories (Paid I cannot be buggered submitting to 400 directories)

www.funny-joker.com has been submitted to 500 directories and has already been setup ect. has a very small income (thats what the previous buyer said)

www.arcaderush.net has been submitted to nothing (im now broke.)

Short for weblog, a site where someone posts their thoughts. Many blogs are now topic specific. You can use blog software like WordPress (free).

Now that your site is being submitted to directories, write some articles for each and submit those to article sites.
