Hey Guys,

For those of you who sell (or try to sell) geo+service domains, just wondering what your setup is like.

Personally, I create a wordpress landing page for every geo+service domain I purchase. I then create a custom email account such as [email protected]. I set that email up on one of my gmail accounts so I can send/receive from there.

Then the fun part of finding potential buyers, their email addresses, craft up an email and start firing them off.

Do you guys also create WP landing pages and email accounts for each domain? I just bought 8 new geo's and was going to start setting them up.. not looking forward to it since it takes so long to do all of this.

Thanks!

Ive been doing this for years.... I offer a site/domain and hosting for one year.... Some times I'll modify the template for them and sometimes I charge extra....

Up-sells:
Hosting/email every year
SEO
Local Printing & Design

Instead of landing pages I'll purchase a template and just include it with the domain. If you're time is valuable.. Outsource the cPanel account creation, email setup/forward and WP/theme install.

Thanks Mahognay. I don't have hosting setup but could give them a hostgator coupon code or even set it up for them.

I just have the "coming soon" plugin installed and toss that on as a landing page saying the site is for sale (with a nice looking relevant background image of course).

With my regular day job (SEO), I don't have much time for prepping each and every domain but at the same time, I don't have the money to hire someone to do it. lol

I could easily offer hosting and SEO or guidance but I feel that would make my initial email to the potential buyers even longer than it already is.

Purchase a cPanel reseller account... That's how I started and now I rent a few dedi servers... They pay for themselves eventually... And in lieu of the landing page I purchase templates, that include demo content and they are installed in seconds.... I normally dont modify the theme unless Im asking alot for the domain.... It honestly takes 5-10 minutes If I have a few browsers open at the same time and I'm going slow...

Steps:
- Create cPanel Account
- Create email account and forwarder.
- Install WP
- Install theme and demo content. (I reuse themes)

However, I have a family + Work + Hobbies... So I too normally have very little time. I understand your plight.. I usually spend more time researching end user's and sending emails, then site creation. That will explain the hundreds of undeveloped domains I have, lol. So many domains.... So little time.

I love GEO+Service domains for end users. I haven't tried this method, though. Most of mine are just parked.. Do you find it really increases your success rate?

@Mahognay_Consulting are you able to share a link to one of those templates? Curious to see what kind you're referring to. Guessing you just buy a template relevant to the business your potential buyer is in, import the demo content and that's it? So you do create a custom email address for that domain and email potential buyers via that email account?

Last night I spent 1hr 40min just doing the following for 12 new domains:
  • toss into godaddy, the hostgator DNS
  • add the new domains into my hostgator account
  • install WP on each domain
  • install the landing page plugin
  • find appropriate images and setup the landing page
Felt like much more time than 1hr 40min but still.. Kinda tedious tasks. This time around I skipped the whole email creation, forwarding, setting it up to send/receive in gmail tasks. Going to try and send these emails via my domain investing email account.

Thanks

Well actively reaching out for buyers will usually increase your success rate then just sitting and parking

Yeah, I've had a few nasty comments and replies to my emails. Even though I only sent 1 email to them. It still gets to me.
