Hi, I have a question so I dont know if it is a right place to ask it.
I bought a domain from GD and 5 min after that recieved an email that cancelled my domain name.
They told it was error and the name was registered.

The history of the domain is this:
It was dropped 14 of June, and updated 27 of July.
So it was or GD error and insted of auction they put it for reg fee.
Or somebody bougt it before me.

Still dont see the updated history of WHOIS, but if I see that nobody bought and it was aviable, could I do something?
I bough it, I dont care if GD made an error.
We all pay for our errors!

Any opinions?
Could I insist in let me ger it NOW if it was the GD error and the domain is still aviable?

Judging by those details, you count 35-36 days from July 26. That date is likely when the domain name switched to Redemption Period.

Essentially, Redemption Period gives the domain name's "last" owner one last chance to get the name back before losing it for good.

Or I dont understand or you.
The ex owner doesnt renewal the domain, it is clear.
If GD made an error and let me purchase that domain and paid for it, I think GD has to give it to me after the redemption period.
The registar was GD, the ex owner bought it from GD in 2013.
And after the redemtion period GD will auction it or not?
If GD will decide auction it or let free I dont know, but it will be a decision of GD or not?
I think yes.
So if it will depend of GD why not to give it to me? Did I bought it? Yes. Is it aviable? No, by the moment no. But I can wait and if the ex owner doesn want it, offer it to me as reg fee.

I really want this domain

It's in their terms of agreement that they can do things like this, every time you buy a domain you agree to these terms.

You are out of luck, welcome to domaining.

Pay a dropcatcher to catch it for you. The better ones cost more.

If you research a bit you can know more or less the day and time the domain will be free.

If you want to handregister the domain when it drops, do NOT try to register it at Godaddy - people on this forum have had trouble with that. The only way to be sure to get it right away is use another registrar.

I've also had the experience of registering a domain and then being told it was not free, not just at Godaddy in fact.

I bought it.
I dont need backorder it.
It was aviable, I paid and it has to be mine.
If it was aviable by error, GD has to give it to me when it will be free y no make me backorder it.
The domain was with GD before and I also bought it from GD.
Who will decide what to do with domain after redemption period?
If GD, so they have to give it to me, thats all

Who will decide what to do with domain after redemption period?

It will become available for anyone to register. The fastest person gets it. To be sure of being the fastest you would have to pay a dropcatching service.

Godaddy do not have any obligation to give you this name - this kind of situation has happened to many of us. No matter how much you dislike what happened, that will not change the way things work. People answering this thread have been trying to help you by supplying information.

Trying to help me telling to pay for backorder?
I cant pay for backorder.
I am trying to explain the situation when I bought something free and possible for reg but GD cancell it waiting me pay 10 tiemes more for backorder it.
This happen I know, but when the domain is really not aviable it is ok, a few day ago I wanted to reg a name, I checked and it was aviable, I was surprised it was a good name, I checked it with one registar but finally decided to reg ir with another one.
And it was reggistered already!
I checked it the next day and really somebody bought it in that few minutes during wich I was thinking where to reg it.
But this was another issue, it is aviable, ok, not now, but it still belongs to GD or not?
Nobody still answer me this question.
I dont aks GD pay for me and backorder it for me.
I only asked if after a redemption period will be GD who will decide what to do with this domain or not?
And if it will be GD, so they have to give it to me, thats very simple.
Maybe I explain it wrong?
Who will decide what to do with the domain after redemption period???
This is my question.

When I saw it aviable, I wanted to buy it from 1and1.com, but it was not aviable there, so I came back to GD site and it was aviable there! So it was only GD error or bug, and I dont ask them to take away this domain from somebody, I only ask give it to me when it will be free, after the redemption period.
Am I wrong?

I faced similar problem 2 times at GD before.

When I check a domain using other registrars, it's not available. But when I check at Godaddy, it's available, I paid for it, then they deleted the domain in my control panel and refunded me.

If you make changes to the domain dns records using Godaddy control panel after you got the domain, you will see doesn't have any effect. The main reason is that, Godaddy can't actually register the domain for you, because it wasn't available, it just changes in Godaddy database, not ICANN database.

People have problems, systems have problems also. So in this case just move on, and wait for another chance

They don't have to do anything.

But my question is WHO will decide if send this domain to auction or let reg it free after the redemption period?
WHO?
I only want to know if it will be at GD decision or not?
Because before it was reggistered at GD.
If it will be not GD decision I have no problem with it.
But it GD will decide if auction it in September or not, then I want them give it to me because I was first in reg it!
Thats all I ask, WHO will take the decision?

no one is going to change the rules for you. just wait until it goes into pending delete and if you can't afford a backorder hope that no one else wants it and you just might be able to register it then. all this ranting and raving just makes you look stupid and pathetic.

I didnt ask nobody to press GD to give me a domain, I only try to ask WHO will decide what to do with it in September.
And if it will be GD, you dont think they should to let me reg it?
I didnt reggistered somebody's domain.
Because of that it makes me so angry with GD.
And if somebody knows to answer, it is the only question I have - WHO will decide what to do with THIS domain after its redemption period.
Due I read in internet it will be GD.
Is it right?

No one has power to decide what to do with it, following the rules, it will be taken to public expired domains auction

Even if Godaddy can decide what to do with the domain, they still don't have to let you reg it. IMO, they should, but they don't have to.

But not all expired domains send to auction or all of them?
And I read that this decision makes the last registar, I mean the registar where it was reggistered before expire.
Is it right or not?
This is what I try to know and not cry and ask them to press and make GD to give it to me.

once a domain goes into pending delete it has nothing to do with any registrar and after the end of the 5th day of pending delete the domain is deleted and is either caught by backorder or available to register.

Go daddy doesn't have possession of the domain. It isn't even possible for them to "give" it to you when it drops. You don't seem to understand that, so let's make it clear.... Godaddy does not own the domain.

They don't owe you the domain just because of a glitch in their system. They owe you your money back. Nothing less, nothing more.

Godaddy (or any other registry) has absolutely no control whatsoever over what happens when a domain drops. It gets released to the public. If it's a valuable domain, godaddy wouldn't stand a chance against the competing BO services even if they wanted to give it to you.

They absolutely, without a doubt, surely cannot and will not give you something that they don't have. If they were entitled to give everyone a domain that was ordered erroneously due to a glitch, we would all be so lucky.

@wayne, Godaddy is registrar, not registry. I agree with other parts that you said

Ok, is that I was asking about.
I thought the last registar owns the domain until it becomes to be free for reg fee.
So I dont have notjing to claim to GD.
Thanks for your explication.
I was angry thinking GD made it for offer me to backorder it.
So will wait the date it will be aviable for reg fee. And hope will have a luck.
