Hi, I have a question so I dont know if it is a right place to ask it.
I bought a domain from GD and 5 min after that recieved an email that cancelled my domain name.
They told it was error and the name was registered.

The history of the domain is this:
It was dropped 14 of June, and updated 27 of July.
So it was or GD error and insted of auction they put it for reg fee.
Or somebody bougt it before me.

Still dont see the updated history of WHOIS, but if I see that nobody bought and it was aviable, could I do something?
I bough it, I dont care if GD made an error.
We all pay for our errors!

Any opinions?
Could I insist in let me ger it NOW if it was the GD error and the domain is still aviable?

So, not need to check each hour the aviability of the domain with GD?
Can do it with my comun registar?
I mean from 27 of August, not now...

Yes that's correct, it will not be available anywhere until it drops so the registrar doesn't matter.

Mayazir,

What I forgot to mention is you count 35-36 days from the Last Updated Date because that is (likely) when the domain name will become available for registration. Remember one of your previous posts:

The Redemption Period applies to .COM, .NET, and .ORG domains. Other TLDs may have different policies concerning expiration and renewal. The Redemption Period occurs approximately 30 days after a domain has reached its expiration date. For 30 days after the expiration date the domain will be available for renewal during a grace period. After the 30 day grace period, the domain will enter a hold period known as the Redemption Period for another 30 days. To recover the domain during the Redemption Period the registry requires a $150 USD fee. Then, there is a 5 day period where the domain is Pending Delete from the registry.

Based on the Last Updated Date of July 26 that you posted, that means the domain name will stay in its current state of Redemption Period up to August 26. Then, it changes to Pending Delete for five days from August 26 to August 31.

Essentially, 35 days (30 days Redemption Period + five days Pending Delete) from July 26 means you might....might....be able to register the domain name on August 31. Or September 1 at most. On one of those dates, you can check with your preferred registrar if the name is available by then.

Good luck.

My advice would be forget about the domain for a few days. Constantly checking for it from different devices and possibly different IPs is making this domain look very popular which can easily come back and bite you in the ass.

Also if memory serves me correctly Gd's whois is cached and not real time....so that may have been the issue as well.

CALL GODADDY.TO COMPLAIN, AND IF THEY SAY THEY CAN'T GIVE IT BACK TO YOU, THEY CAN HELP YOU PLACING A BACKORDER FOR 20 à 25 USD..(and if you payed money for the domain you bought in Aftermarket, you can ask your money back).
The domain is now in Registry Redemption Period. This means that the old owner can buy it back BUT het has to pay a very high fee (80 USD) to get it out of registry redemption + a renewalfee. So it is very likely he will not buy it back.
After the Registry Redemption Period (= +/-72 days after expiration), the domain goes into a 5 day period of "Pending Delete Status". And then the day after, the domain comes available to the public again to register.
NOW => TODAY you can already place a BACKORDER.
You can do that at Godaddy (although they are not the quickest catchers, they do catch several domains successfull) : ASK IN THE PHONE at godady WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO EXACTLY TO PLACE A BACKORDER.
If you want more certainty that your backorder succeeds. Look around on the forum or start a thread on the forum asking who is the quicklest "catcher" (but the quickest catchers ask 59 - 69 USD).

SOMETHING ELSE : A BACKORDER of 20 USD-25 USD at godaddy will do the following => Godaddy will be try to catch nearly every minute the domain the day that it's coming available again. => NOW VERY IMPORTANT => If you place a backorder and on the day the domain comes available Godaddy succeeds, it also can be that one of Godaddys partners actually registers. So it's not because you see something else, like "Wild West", or "Domain Alert" in the whois, that the domain isn't catched by Godaddy. In a days time you will see the correct whois. You also will get an email that will say if your backorder has succeeded or not. If it is not succeeded => Then you can backorder another domain.
