GD Backorder Question

Hi,

I am back ordering a domain at GD.

Last time when I was backordering a domain name, GD notified me a couple of days earlier before the domain was released. It said that they would attempt to capture the domain. The domain status was set to PENDING DELETE I checked.

But this time, it doesn't send me any email? Why?
I know the domain name will be released tomorrow, but the status is still set to Registrar-LOCK. It is registered by NetworkSolutions. Does GD back order domains registered by NS?

Please Help ~ :(

Was the domain name you were trying to back order registered by NetworkSolutions?

No matter what domain name I back order from Networksolutions, GD never send any notifications to me, so I don't know they are attempting to back order or not.

Sorry to disappoint you but NS drops will more often than not go to Snapnames, read this : https://www.snapnames.com/preferred_info.jsp

GD Backorders are only good for names which drop from GD. Otherwise it works very rarely, only if you are lucky.

If you want the name and it's registered with Network Solution YOU WILL HAVE BACKORDER WITH SNAPNAMES :) - the only way godaddy will get it is of nobody has backordered it at snapnames.

Snapnames & Network Solutions have a partner agreement so IMO the name will be "passed" to snapnames. I am 99% sure of this.
Good luck

I see, so this work the same for godaddy then?

If a domain is going to be released by godaddy, it'll check to see anyone is back ordering at godaddy first before releasing to the public?

Looks like I won't be able to get it ~ :(

That is correct. So you have a good chance of obtaining it if its regged there.
But again, if more than one person has backordered it... it would go for auction!

Just backorder it at Snapnames :) and if it's a good name - get ready to start bidding for it :td:

Not any more... Actually godaddy's auction site tdnam.com takes precendence over godaddy's backorder service. Only if a GD registered name is not taken on auction at tdnam will it be available for a GD backorder. Also, GD only allows ONE person to backorder. If backorder is taken at GD, you won't be able to BO it.
