Airbus on track to fly its electric aerial taxi in 2018
I think the same eg currently its flying cars etc but I reckon transportation will move on from cars - cars could become extinct in due course
Rides does not restrict itself to a specific mode of transport
I own flyingseats.com
I reckon future flying modes of transport only require somewhere to sit not 20ft of metal weighing 2 tonnes eg cars etc

Video and images of Dubai's autonomous air taxi
The Volocopter will start testing its autonomous air taxi by the last quarter of 2017.
Images released by the German company Volocopter and shared by the Dubai Media Office on Tuesday showed the autonomous air taxi's design and luxurious interior.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) which teamed up with Volocopter confirmed that trials of the autonomous air taxis would ‘gradually’ begin in the fourth quarter of 2017, Gulf Business reported.

The reality of urban air transportation is closer than you think. In fact, Uber Elevate has already started exploring the barriers we’ll need to overcome to make vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) a reality and bringing uberAIR to Dallas and Los Angeles by 2020. Watch this video to see what an end-to-end flight in an uberAIR VTOL will look like. We’re excited to partner with some of the world’s top manufacturers, real estate developers, agencies, and cities to make this vision a reality.
With VTOL aircrafts, passengers can enjoy quicker daily commutes, while our cities experience less traffic congestion and cleaner air.

The future is up in the air: eVTOLs & Urban air transport
By John Stephenson
Flying cars are the stuff of science fiction. Futuristic cities where citizens commute in personal aircraft are the domain of the Jetsons or Star Wars. Predictions of personalised air transport have been around for decades, but safety, cost, and engineering feasibility have stood in the way of these ventures in the past.
Recently, however, renewed interest in personal air transport has gained traction. Advances in energy storage, composites manufacturing, and computer-assisted flight make small-scale aviation seem increasingly feasible, perhaps even likely. Chief amongst this new crop of personal aviation ideas are electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicles.
eVTOLs sit between drones and helicopters in terms of capabilities. They replace a helicopter’s engine and rotors with many battery-powered electric motors that turn smaller rotors. However, they’re much bigger than most drones, and most prototypes include space for 2-4 passengers. The idea is for these electric vehicles to take to the skies to deliver passengers on short trips around densely populated areas. A trip that may have taken a long time due to traffic or geography could be drastically reduced by simply flying.
This is definitely going to be a big leap forward in the taxi business. Not only it will reduce commute times but will also help segregating traffic between road and air space.

The Jetsons theme song is playing quite a bit here on TV for the Electric Car industry...good call, briguy!
What will be the correct term for these flying vehicles? Flying cars? vtols? evtols?
IMO vtols/evtols are the correct terms. And evtols makes more sense because electric flying vehicles will have less noise and less air pollution. Those requirements are must for flying above cities. What do you guys think?
I see a future in personal flying crafts indeed.
