Alrighty, I am usually not one to promote these types of programs but the free iPod offer from freepay seems to be legit as I am seeing more and more people receiving their free ipods.

How it works is like this...

You signup for a freepay account then signup for one of their offers. (I used the first one, the realplayer 30 day free trial one). Ya do need a credit card but according to numerous sources they don't actually charge ya until your free trial is up. Thats also according to their invoice.

Then you need to refer 5 people to freepay to signup for one of the offers (i.e. the realplayer free trial offer) and then they send you a free ipod.

How they (freepay) make money to pay for the iPod is they receive a affilate bonus from the companies that make the offers (I.e. real player). That pays for the ipod.

Anyone else have any experience with this?

Never bothered with any of these pyramid schemes, regardless of whether people say they work - Its not worth the bother.

Also, Dont think you can post referral links in your post - Might want to get rid of that.

The other side of this could be that they use your email address to sell to spam lists (like most free offers along these lines). So to track this I setup a special email account just for this so I'll know if they do sell your email address :)

Relevant story - http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,70482-0.html?tw=rss.index

I think that's probably the norm in that industry - nothing is ever free!
There is always a price to be paid. The only real way for these companies to make money and give away "free" ipods (or whatever) is by selling your details.

Not even a page full of adverts will make enough money to cover the cost of hundreds, if not thousands, of ipods to "give away"
