I'm constantly looking for a good site to build...and not let it sit. So, I stumbled upon a Niche. I think it is rather good.

Info:

1.) 3 word niche
2.) .com is available (only .org is taken and site not developed)
3.) average cpc is $1.22
4.) popular item (actual product)
5.) Search on google with the 3 words in "quotes" brought up 786 results for item.

But, there are only about 372 searches(overture) per month for this 3 worded name. However, the 2 worded name it stems off, generates about 8580 searches per month. And the main keyword that the 2 worded name stems off of generates about 145,020 per month.

Main word = 145,020 searches/mo.
2 word name = 8580 searches/mo.
3 word name = 372 searches/mo. - the name I am looking to build off of

Does overture searches even matter? I need to find out how many in google, msn, yahoo.....right??

Do you think this is worth developing. I am new to this(domaining and such) and I think it might be worth it, but I am no expert (not even close). I will put alot of effort into this site if it's worth developing.

Please help. Any suggestions would be appreciated. You all know better than I would. Sometimes I think something is great, when it's really just not.

Thanx. :)

To reg this domain it costs barly anything, so why not just reg the domain! :tu: ...and if the 3 keyword matches exactly what you are going to develop and sell then go for it! You can get a great placement in google and I think it will be worth the small investment. Good Luck B-)

Yeah, that's true. I'm going to register it and try it out.

Maybe I can get a decent ranking for other keywords as well, as time goes on....

Thanx. :)

Right on! Who knows maybe you will get small type-in traffic that could lead to some huge clicks which could easily cover your small investment. From there forward it is up to you to make the domain a success.

For future reference, Google has it's own version of Overture mainly used for Adwords advertisers, but as domainers we can make it useful too.

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

Change the "Choose data to display:" dropdown box to say Global search volume trends. Enter the search term or keyword and it shows it's numerous variations and gives an indicator of how often it is searched for.

It doesn't give an exact number like Overture does, but it's still reliable in general. I'd much rather trust the amount of searches done on Google than on Yahoo anyway...;)

How do you find out what the average cpc is?
