.LA - Gem found, but is it worth it?

Hi,

I have just found a 3 letter gem with .LA (Los Angeles) extension available.

It's not sex.la, nor anything like that, of course, but a collectible item.

Is it worth regging it for $40 per year more or less?

I haven't heard of any good .la sales, I doubt any LLL.la except sex.la is worth anything..

Well, the main problem I see here is that the name I have found is regged in almost every TLD and ccTLD, hence my doubt...

GAZ la $160 Jul 07 Sedo Auction
Got la $300 Jun 07 Moniker/Traffic

You can get .LAs cheaper at Moniker (I have heard) and Dotster with a coupon. ~$30

Tough to sell, like any obscure extension, and the best have ben skimmed. Think 5 years renewal. I have a few LL, they are too good to let go but not much market yet.

Yep, Dotster allowed me to reg what I wanted for less than 30 bucks.

The domains was

OOO.LA

and I have regged it.

If I don't have 30 bucks to waste here I must get another biz...

Yep, I have seen those, and if you watch closely there are only 5 VVV.la's available and I have 1. :D

JJJ.LA is available and it's the last trip letter.LA available.

Any1 wants to grab it?

Personally, I think .la domain names are a mistake. Good luck to you investors, this is a long shot IMOH

Yep, I also think this might well be a mistake, but $30 is not really a lot to add to near 1000 other domains I own, so... :D

Yep, I've seen that one, and DNJournal also mentions another large sale.

OOO.LA is brandable, quite brandable imho, so I'll just stick to it for a few years.
