I was wondering for a long time already... why do .MOBI, .TV and .US get their own subforum and not .EU ?

For .TV I could easily understand because it has been a popular extention for a long time. But .US is only recently starting to grow while .MOBI is too new to already claim it is an established extention.

So if .US and .MOBI are given a subforum to sort of enhance attention to these extentions, why not .EU ?

I for one strongly believe in the potential of .EU and how it can become one of the most popular ccTLDs. But if that will ever happen, it will require some promotional work for .EU, people need to get used to the extention and realise the potential it's got. An own subforum on forums like this could rise the interest in .EU so I wonder why we cannot have an .EU subforum just like .US and .MOBI got one (despite not being long-term established extentions neither) ?

Just a suggestion, not a criticism. Although with some paranoia you could consider it discrimination against us European forum members :yell:

Personally. None of them should get there own subforums. Why does .us, .mobi, or.tv gets a sub-forum?

.tv and .mobi are understandable. .us surprises me, though.

The reason is there is virtually no interest in.eu, apart from literally a handful of people. :imho: it was stillborn and still is

i think .info is worthy of its own section. there is a lot of interest in it and virtually all domainers own .infos in their portfolios somewhere. many a healthy stash

.MOBI suprises me.

.UK should have it's own but I dont think Ron wants one for .UK.

In a way I dont, because I dont want the .UK extension to be ruined

As the person who created the .tv subforum and the notion for specific ext sub forums I will answer why it came about and why I think there should be for all of the top extensions.

There was very little .tv discussion when I came to Namepros in 2004. I started a thread and stickied it, it became thee source and greatest single resource on the .tv extension anywhere on the internet.

Interest grew, and more people were participating. So the proposal for a .tv subforum the first extension specific sub forum on any forum was started in 11/05. The forum has grown substantially to be recognized and followed by ENOM,Verisign, Demand Media and several other companies. So whether someone likes .tv or not, the fact is the forum and its growth have been a success.

I believe that people want to discuss their top domain investments with other like minded people. Free of trolls, those disinterested and those with an agenda against the extension.

Domain Discussion everything is open if you say .*** is the greatest or hype I think you should be ready for people to flame.

But Extension specific sub forums I believe are an excellent feature. Most people are interested in their own areas and want to focus on that specific area or areas.

Again IMO

Well here is chart showing the relative sizes of each of the new gTLDs and main "domainer" ccTLDs from pages indexed by Google.

.tv was just one extension back then. Now, there is three of them.

edit to add i like .us, but it does not deserve its own sub. Same thing with .eu.

I think only .mobi deserves a subforum, because the .mobi is something else, with its own rules for content.
