To make it clear, we talk about what in Europe is called "football" or "association football", and which is called "soccer" in North America and in some other countries (Australia? New Zealand?)

There is a lot of football/soccer going on right now: the GOLD Cup has just finished, the European Championship for Women is ongoing, the Clubs World Cup is about to reach its final game, the qualifiers for the Champions League and other European club tournaments have just started, most clubs are starting to play friendlies as preparation of the upcoming season ...

So I figured a football/soccer-specific topic was justified.

So which clubs do you support?
I said clubs as obviously this can be more than one. Many people have a favourite club in different countries.

I support Real Madrid in Spain and Manchester United in the Premier League. Been following them for years! Also keep an eye on a few local clubs.

I am from Belgium, but have lived in other countries prior to repatriating. This means I have some clubs I sympathise with in many different countries.

However, there are 2 clubs I've been supporting since childhood: in my own country, KV Oostende, and my favourite foreign team since childhood years has been Rosenborg BK (from Trondheim, Norway).

I realise Rosenborg is not an obvious one, as most Belgians have an English, German, Spanish or Italian team as favourite foreign clubs. But I've always had a huge passion for the Arctic and the Far North. Norway as a country has appealed to me a lot since a very young age. The first time I saw Rosenborg on TV, I was 13 or 14 years, they were still amateurs. I saw a European game ; the Lerkendal Stadium was covered in snow and it was very dark. That is exactly how I imagined the Far North to be. I kept following the club ever since. Only a couple of years later they became a professional side and started to actually win against big European clubs, and they managed to win 13 domestic titles in a row. I never thought that'd happen when I started following the club: at that point they were still an amateur side. The last years have been more difficult for the club, as Norwegian clubs don't often qualify for the Champions League anymore, and the top teams now are Molde and Bodø/Glimt. Rosenborg these days aims for the 3rd and 4th place in order to play Europa League or Conference League. The glory days seem to be over, but I still support the club.
Obviously, I have some sympathies as well for Tromsø, which is one of the northernmost clubs in the world, far above the Arctic circle. I wish them well too, as long as they don't play Rosenborg.

KV Oostende sadly folded last year due to bankruptcy, after years of mismanagement. The remainders of the club merged with nearby club KSV Diksmuide to form a new club. I fully support this new entity. It is not the original club, but it keeps the legacy and traditions of KV Oostende alive. So I fully support the club.

Never psg ..who they got???

Well, in all fairness, the football they played in the Champions League final and the second half of the previous season in general was sensationally good.

It is ironic: they decided to no longer invest in star players with sky high salaries, they got rid of Neymar, Messi and Mbappé, and now with a very youthful squad without true star players they suddenly do win the Champions League.

I love Paris as a city, but PSG is not my favourite club by any means. Even though they recently seem to have stayed away from sky high transfer fees and salaries, they have several times in the recent past been suspects of having violated financial fair play rules. I'd go for Red Star if I have to choose a Parisian team. Red Star on top of that is a very historical club.
