Just sold domain Xuut.com via flippa auction and receive this message from the winner. Nice!

You could remind them that, by the rules, they are responsible for anything done from their account by their employees, representatives and other people to whom they have given access. So they should buy the domain from you and then take legal / administrative action against the person who abused their trust. If they do not buy, I sure hope their organisation gets banned from Flippa. Besides, the low-mid xxx amount they bid for this nice 4L is not that extraordinary, it is almost a bargain. I would understand their shock if somebody bid a few thousands without their consent, but this is not the case.

...PM me the auction ID.

I'll step in and ensure they comply, or they'll be suspended/banned.

Will also assist you with a full relist / credit refund, should they entirely bail on this.

Hello,

I have been a member on flippa for few months and only made 1 sale compare to GD auctions where I sold around 6. Now, suddenly flippa wants me to send them government issued id scanned in colour which I did. After receiving my id flippa wants me to make a selfie holding my id? Lol I mean how far I'm going to prove I'm genuine seller. I felt discriminated. So, asking if this happened to all or I'm singled out? Obviously, my account had no problems.

Regards,

This is normal; If you read previous posts, you would see it happened. It happened to me, who made 20 transactions :)

Thanks Abdullah. You seem to share same area of residency as I do, the same reason I feel discriminated. But thanks for the heads up. I have send the PM. I hope this small problem will sorted soon.

Regards,

I'm sorry your feelings are hurt, but this is what everyone else reading this would hope for -- that we are doing our job to ensure that security trumps anything else.

Just so we're clear, you have information that does not fully compute; I won't expose details here, but let's just say that some eyebrows are raised and one of the ways we can determine you are who you say you are is if you comply with what our Marketplace Integrity Team has requested. You shouldn't feel discriminated against - this is a common security tactic.

this is a common security tactic.
It is? Like where??? I've never had to do a request like this, whether at a bank, ebay, credit card company, etc. etc. etc.! Having to send one's picture with them holding their ID/DL, and a 'color copy' of said id, may be a safe security tactic for those 'companies' wanting to protect themselves from problems, but it IS NOT for the individual sending it! Yeah I know, you/they securely protect that info,...right up until..it's compromised.

In fact it is exactly this 'security tactic' that has stopped us from selling on Flippa, or any other entity that requests that type of info. Making a couple of bucks, at the risk of having my (anyone's) personal info compromised, is simply not worth the risk.

AirBnB and others; allow me to confirm exactly.

Again, not my rules and I feel you - cyber threats are scary. I do not blame you for disagreeing however ask everyone understands our position, especially when something suspicious is in front of us.

@hawkeye ~ Should be noted that nothing was suspicious on your end; you just got asked to verify and I'm sorry that's strained our ability to work together further...

Live in the US, had to go through that myself. Have no objection. It is inconvenient, but helps vet the space.

I just had to scan my ID and send a picture holding it to DN.com for verfication.

Looks like nice action at flippa, gotta find my old account and start posting some domains.

Any recommendation whether I should bulk related domains or sell them separately?

Regarding sending id and selfie holding the id are normal security precautions by any standard company who wants the security measures as their priority...(but company should secure our information we provided..no leakage of user details)...with Flippa.com,DN.com,eSCROW.com and paypal u wont find any difficulties..

Problem sorted. My main concern was about privacy and wheather this tactic is normal or not. I know few companies ask for credit card scan front and back but I think only handful will do this. Lastly, one sell I made on flippa was worth about same that I sell 6 domains elsewhere in $. Thanks

Do Domain Holdings brokers get automatic listing upgrades?

Not sure if others have been experiencing the same issues but since flippa launched their new design it seems they have been selling far less domain names.

On average I was selling 3-4 domains per month, I have only been selling 0-1 per month now and auctions seem to be getting very little views and hardly any bidders even with premium upgrades.

Still seems that brokered domains and editors choice are the only ones getting exposure. I've had three auctions which were premium upgrades which this time last year would have sold for high $xxx-$xxxx. My three didn't even pass low reserve and only had a couple bidders. I was getting approximately 2500 views and 50+ watchers on a listing with old design. Now with premium I'm lucky to break 1500 views and 30 watchers.

Basically my last three premium listings didn't sell and so I'm out the $750 in upgrade costs.
i have had no success on flippa....i won't use it again
