I wrote an article about First Name Last Name Domain Names on the blog, you can read the full article by clicking here, but let's discuss over here at NamePros.

Do you register the First Name, Last Name Domains?

Whats the Sales / Drop like?

Are you only registering Dot Com?

Do you do research before you acquire i.e. Look at who owned it, how many years was it owned etc?

What's the sweet spot for sale? is it a quick flip at $99, $250, $500 or $1K+ etc.

Let's discuss...

I have currently reg my:

1. firstname/lastname;
2. my wive's firstname/middleinitial/lastname;
3. also her - first-name-initial/middle-name-initial/ lastname;
4. Her famiies' last name;
5. Full name of a 19th Century prominent - semi-famous relative.

Had but dropped years ago the firstname/lastname of a famous numerous generations back relative - planned to do a site, never got around to it and let it go in the event another " relative " wanted it.

Did not attempt to sell it.

Have not acquired nor intend to acquire any other firstname/lastname domains unless a variant of our names.

FN + LN is trending now.

Never registered or acquired FN or LN.

Inquired a name which can be a first name also last name. Seller asked high six figures for that one, immediately rejected.

I posted the following response on a similar thread -

Super popular name combos that don't target any one specific person I don't have much issue with.

For example JohnSmith.com sold for $5634 on NJ because of the potential tens of thousands of end users for one like that.

These type of domains are extremely valuable to the right end user when it comes to personal branding fields like design, real estate, etc. There is also a vanity aspect owning this kind of name over the thousands of other people who share it.

They do sell, but getting the right balance is challenging.

I have two FNLN .coms

TeresaHo.com
LisaStarr.com

and Tomoko.cc Japanese given name

Remote Working and Personal Branding may coincide to freshen interest in FNLN

Is it true that JaneSmith.com sold to a luxury company for $305,000 via dan lander?

I have no idea. I would be highly skeptical.
If it actually did, it is a ridiculous outlier.

Yes, I registered a couple but decided it wasn't for me.

Anyone planning on doing anything online should try to obtain their full name as their domain name..
Owning yours adds credibility to you and your online representation!

I convinced & helped obtain my friends full name.. (in .com) ten years later, he still owns and actively uses his domain.. 😊

Waste of time.

I have my surname and would have paid loads to get it. On this basis I bought a few common surnames. Getting any traction above 3 digits has been impossible.

Would not want to think of trying to get lucky with FNLN.

I have my cousin's first/last in .org and I keep forgetting to tell him. One cool thing about it, it was first registered in 1999. A fairly common name.
