I am having a problem with firefox since yesturday and so far today, it says firefox is already running, shut it down or restart your computer. So i check, no, its not running, so i shut off my computer and turned it back on.. What do you know, 'firefox is already running, ...' so i do Ctrl-Alt-Delete, no firefox found. Uninstall firefox and then reinstall it, same thing. Uninstall it and remove every file in the folder, install it, yet again its the same error.

Whats wrong with it?

Edit: finally found something while looking for google (dam i hate IE, so many windows open :P)

I found i had to run the line: firefox.exe -profilemanager and then delete my profile and make a new one, now it works but all my extensions are gone :(

When you do Ctrl-Alt-Delete are you checking under the "Processes" tab as well or just applications?

The reason I ask is I too have had this issue and did not see it under Applications but did find it under "Processes." If you do find it under "Processes" you simply need to click on it and then "End Process" and you should be golden.

My problem with Firefox is the constant loss of bookmarks, sites dissappearing from my Address Bar and now it is logging me out of sites I normally do not log out from.

What really sucks is I just did a reformat and clean install of XP after a crash and re-installed the latest version of FF from their website. I have checked and double checked all my settings and cannot for the life of me figure this crap out. I have even been running the extension to back up my bookmarks just because I got tired of the BS but even that is a problem as it saves the bookmarks each time you shut down the browser. That means you need to check the bookmarks everytime you shutdown to make sure they are still there otherwise it will save nothing to the file.
