Finding out how old your domains are

if the internet archive doesnt show historic results for a domain name whats the best way of finding out how long your domains have been registered for (prior to you owning them)

I take it you mean you bought the name in a drop and the date now shows as new ?

If you check you domain using www.whois.sc then "sometimes" it will still show the original date of reg in the bottom right hand section of the page titled:

Compare Similar Domains


Other than the other ways you mentioned then I don't know of another way.

Sometimes http://domain-history.domaintools.com/ helps - whois.sc should use same database

Domaintools will record only if someone is requesting whois info for a particular domain, but if no one requested whois for the name in past then they dont have any record too imo
