wow wow wow Travel.Agency?

That's nuts! speechless! didn't that sell for $10K? lots of good "sales" there. is this a sign of the times? I guess not many Endusers ended up going to Namescon as one would think? crazy. kinda depressing

lol Zandibot dodged a bullet with that one. although I doubt he ever does Namescon no reserve auctions he's good with doing outbounds I bet.. I was going to submit mines. probably would never have gotten accepted. and if it did probably got peanuts for it. maybe deservedly so but still doesn't instill much confidence.

I bet Mike Mann was there with a blowhorn " New Extensions SUCK!" or "Dotcoms RULE!" lol

Something went terribly wrong here...

Nothing went wrong.

It's just the industry showing its true colors.

The new g's are dead in the water in reference to resellers.

And the auction was essentially a large group of resellers.

I mean did you see some of the names auctioned in it?

Alot of the premium. coms were shaded by the tons of nonsense garbage that was auctioned.

I'm all for progression, but the new g's is not where it is....

Back to the drawing board.

gTLD's still young. Clearly some people are going be left disappointed. Seems a little screwy, but not the right time nor place for those names. Too much other muscle at the scene.

I never trusted that $10K sale on Flippa.

wow, someone took a bath on travel.agency... sad thing is it was just pure impatience that caused that loss.

I am not sure patience is to blame. This was poor auction management, especially for the New G's.

NGTLD domainers took a big risk putting their names out there with no reserve. Imho that is the worst mechanism to sell new gs in the current market because you are unable to protect your investment. The auction structure was not ideal and you can't really expect much better than this result from an event catered to the biggest .com investors on the planet.
The lack of top quality new gs in this auction speaks more about ngtld domainer sentiment than anything else because these aren't even the best New Gs out there and the guys with better names have held firm and wisely decided to keep their names out of Namescon. I know of plenty of guys who just didn't see the benefit of even trying to sell at this auction, its like trying to sell a PC at a Mac convention, people just won't value them the same and will tailor their event to fit the characteristics of the majority i.e .com.

Travel.Agency was the biggest steal in the entire auction, definitely made money on the buy because that name will be worth x10 or x20 that price within the next 3-5 years.

Too early to sell the best of new gTLDs.

A simple rule for at least the next three years. And you need to stay away from resellers if you want to sell for good money! :)

Shocking this...

Could sell for less in the future, took a hit but at least they got something back. Travel agencies tend to use original names or keyword plus travel. 10x - 20x is dreaming. If you really believed that, you should have snapped it up.

Duct.com was 14k, Nympho.com 11K, Cleavage.com $30K if you have a namejet account you can still log in to the live window and view. Single.com $290K, Featured.com $100K.
