I just backordered a domain through godaddy.com and the domain was deleted yesterday by the previous owner. For all days yesterday it gave this as whois return:

No match for "*****.com" in the registrar database.

Registry Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK

Now today, it says this:

No match for "*****.com" in the registrar database.

Registry Status: ACTIVE

I am not sure what this means but the domain was ordered on August 26th 2005 for a year, however yesterday it was cancelled by the owner.

When will it drop so Godaddy will try to snap it for me?

The owner also ordered it via GODADDY.

Please let me know if you know anything about these...

Also this other domain i have on backorder is in REDEMPTION PERIOD for 3 days now. When will it become available if the owner does renew it?

Here is an updated email I received from Godaddy for the domain:

We have noted that the following changes occurred between 09/28/2005 and 09/29/2005:
The domain name servers have been changed: OLD: ***.************.COM ***.************.COM ***.************.COM NEW: PARK21.SECURESERVER.NET PARK22.SECURESERVER.NET The domain status has been changed: OLD: REGISTRAR-LOCK NEW: ACTIVE
for the following name(s):
*****.com

Hi:

check out this link http://stargate.com/cycle.asp and pls let me know as it goes. I'm thinking about backorder through godaddy as well, but the way they say it is a bit vague. Having read the link, now i understand why godaddy says that.

Good Luck,

zencha

I recall posts on NP about Godaddy backorder system. Maybe a search for the term will show some results.
