I was curious as to what you thought of the above name. Was it a good reg?

The word "fashionista" has a Wordtracker of 1,155/day & OVT of 90/day

A fashionista is a term used to describe an avid follower of fashion, one working in or deeply involved with the high-fashion industry, such as a fashion designer, fashion model, photographer, buyer, fashion writer, or wearer; a devotee to clothing trends and fashion.

See Wikipedia for more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fashionista

All these extentions are taken:

com, net, org, info, biz, mobi, ca, co.uk, eu, cc, tv, name, de, bz, sc, vc, es, nu, uk.com

Fashionista.co.uk sold for $10,140 in Jan 2007.

Comments & appraisals appreciated.

Fashion is a high paying keyword. However, this word isn't easily recognised by the average womain (or man).

The branding potential though would make it worth at least mid $xxx.

Trademark it, though, get a major chain store when they're looking to launch a new range, have a chat with their creative people/ad agency, and you could walk away with $20K.

Thanks for the appraisal. Tried to add a rep, but system said I must spread it around more before giving it to you again.

Any other appraisals?

It is a great name, But one problem, It has 11 "live" trademarks for the word mark "fashionista" the major one i see is a company in new york.

I really can't valuate it based on the heavy TM it carries, sorry :(

I don't really know much about TM, but wouldn't this term be considered generic enough since it's a dictionary word? I just did a search for the TM, there are 5 live TM for that word, the other ones have other words added before or after the word.

The New York one is based on men's, women's, boy's and girl's clothing

The other 4 ones are for:

Entertainment, electronic games services provided on the Internet

ENTERTAINMENT SERVICES IN THE NATURE OF TELEVISION SERIES, FEATURING LIVE ACTION, COMEDY AND DRAMA

Hair care preparations, cosmetics, and non-medicated skin care

men's, women's, boy's and girl's clothing

The TM laws just are not clear enough imo, My understanding is, Because that word by itself is word marked alone "by itself" that would be a TM infrigment, If i am wrong, please correct me, or maybe some one could shed some light on this??

It's an awesome name.

It's a hard one...
Fashionista is a dictionary word, that does seem to provide additional protection when it comes to a UDRP... Mind you, if I had apple.us, I highly doubt I would win a UDRP on that one vs Apple Inc. In decisions, the size of the company filing the UDRP seems to matter. When you consider that ~ 80% of cases are decided in the favor of the plantiff, you may want to seriously consider the implications of spending time and money developing this name.
