Just wanted to share this especially with domain newbies. I was with Sedo's PPC (sedo.co.uk) from December 2003 - mid July 2004 and earned a puny 4.63 Euros total during those 8.5 months. I moved over to Fabulous (fabulous.com) and brought along my entire portfolio of domains, and have earned US$13.99 to date from mid-July 2004 (5 weeks).

In my experience, Sedo clicks do not usually earn above 0.08 euros each whereas Fabulous' PPC rates average about US$0.22. I have had on numerous occasions rates above US$0.40 and even US$0.92. More importantly, it appears that I have a lot more click throughs on Fabulous.

Sedo's advantages:
very easy to forward domains to Sedo's PPC eg. through CPanel
very well designed site and extremely user-friendly

Sedo's disadvantages:
very low PPC rates
high commissions on domain sales

Fabulous' advantages:
one of the best and swiftest customer service that I know of
high PPC rates
zero commission on domain sales

Fabulous' disadvantages:
need to use Fabulous' name servers which means that there could be a 24-48hrs disruption between DNS changes

Note: I do not earn PPC's through this appraisal of Fabulous' services but if you must you could send me a donation by clicking here! :tu:

Is this like the google ad sense thing? If not what is it

Hi entrep, it's not GoogleAdsense. Fabulous is a pay per click system (PPC) where you park your unused domains with them (ns1.fabulous.com, ns2.fabulous.com) and earn bits of commissions that do add up when visitors click on links on your parked page.

To have a PPC/wholesale account with them, you usually need to first have 100 domains in your portfolio, then follow the sign up procedure on Fabulous.com - like some of us who had tried, you will probably see your earnings rise pretty quickly compared to parking at Sedo. :tu:

I am also trying the Fabulous parking experiment. Last night I moved 115 names there and it took me about 3 hours to optimize them all. I was pleased that I got a confirmation email and optimization suggestions for those that did not fit any catagory. I woke up this morning and already $1 in revenue on 92 views and 1 click. It is early but looks promising.

Hi geoffe, glad you tried it and it seems to be working out for you. Do keep us up to date on your monthly earnings! :tu:

How are you grossing now? I would think and hope it is much more than $10/day.

I assume that you're letting Fabulous do the optimizing for you. Is that right?

The SpamPunch.Com domain looks new in appearance.
The others you have are similar. Any other noticeable
changes besides looks? When did the Fab 4.0 come
out?

I think fab 4.0 is more about the way its optimized ... the template choices will hopefully be the same

they only added a bunch of new templates recently for some categories but i really think its a good thing as they at least have pictures that are relevant

Just to add: one little thing I really do not like about Fabulous is their exit pop-up ads (called pop-under ads?) - very spam-like. At least they are not those that open up another ad, and another, and another, and another, ad nauseum...
Are you still having those exit pop-up ads? I agree that they are very annoying but supposedly they increase your revenue. However, they do turn some/many visitors off and I wonder on balance if the pop-ups help or hurt in the
long run. If Fabulous is reading this, some enlightening comment would be appreciated.

My thinking is that if the pop-ups only help revenue a little, say 10% or less, I would probably prefer not to have them. I suppose Fabulous has done some research on this and has the % increase figures for revenues as a result of having the pop-ups vs. disabling them.

My guess is that you're on their Premium 4.0 program, am I right?

Are you using ROAR or Premium 4.0? I see you've a big jump in uniques and clicks when compared to Dec. 2004. Are those all due to Version 4.0? Are most of your domains doing exit-pops then?

I still don't like those exit-pops. Although rare, I've had an instance today where the pop-up apparently somehow caused my browser IE, to freeze and not responding. I had to use task manaager to remove it. I wouldn't like that to happen to any visitor.

I think Premium 4.0 would be much more desirable and visitor-friendly without exit pop-ups.

To answer some questions:
(1) Yes I am on Premium 4.0
(2) Very few of my domains now have exit pop-ups, or even pop-ups at all for the matter; most are neat pages offering relevant ads
(3) Even though I have about 120 domains on Fabulous, 99.5% of my revenue are accrued by 2 star domains, one of which was solely responsible for Jan's super earnings; but this domain has cooled off slightly, and the other one has surprisingly taken the front seat! :bingo:

Fabulous indeed has superb customer service which is very personable, amiable and extremely efficient. Over these months, they have succeeded in making me feel as if I had friends over at the Fabulous team. :loveyou:

I got an email introducing Fab4.0 and was instructed to simply reply to that email if I wanted to get on the bandwagon. You could always email to [email protected] - you will be very well received. :talk:

That puzzled me at first as well, but I guess it definitely has to do with the fact that they know which keywords are being bought at what price per click, so by offering 75%, both parties have a chance of earning more. If you choose your own categorization, you may earn less PPC and they in turn will as well; alternatively, it could be as simple as them preferring to maintain the relevance of their PPC program. Anyhow, it works better for you to let them do the work. In fact, even if you decide to do it on your own, they often reject your choice if it's deemed to be irrelevant. You get the idea.

You do not need to park 100 domains with them, in fact I was first approved when I had 60+ domains. Once you are approved, you're in the game. :snaphappy:

Thanks Dr, I listed 100 to get approved when filling out app. but I might want to leave some at SEDO and DH. One reason why they may want to do is I would bet they turn on pop ups I know you said you don't like them well I regged 8 names tonight and I had an option to have pop ups on or off and I kept them off maybe the boost of 25 % is because they know most Domainers doing it themselves will shut off, and they will turn on. Just a thought but you know them much better than I do. But they are great why anyone would reg com, net, org with anyone else I don't know why.

Yes, they are great. I feel like consolidating all my domains at Fabulous but I will have to first confirm if they offer all the domain management tools that eNom offers. I know of one too many registrars who charge very low but top off with fees for DNS control, forwarding, etc - nonsense in short. You will in time come to love their customer service and expect the same of every other company! :xf.love:
