Excellent domain name! Have you checked the ranking on google.com.mx and google.es?

Foreign language domains are harder to value, but I could see this selling for $xxxx. Consider marketing it towards Latin American and Spanish end-users for best results. If you're lucky you'll find a company willing to pay $xxxxx for it. Good luck!

Rick Latona said this month on his site:

"With so many countries speaking Spanish, itโ€™s hard to imagine maintaining and Internet presence on each of their ccTLD extensions. Thatโ€™s why the debate on Spanish language keywords usually focuses on .com versus .es."

[end quote]

-----

I own the .com, but not also the .es.

Someone at cctlds (.) com posted the following about .coms and ccTLDs:

----

"Lastminute.com said (about their decision to buy competitor lastminute.de for 10+ million) something like: we needed lastminute.de, because without that 50% of our advertising was used for advertising our competitor..."

----

This post got me thinking that whoever owns Fabricacion (.) com (me right now) would rather also own Fabricacion (.) es. Otherwise, the advertising for the .com will help the competitor with the .es domain. So, it's best to own both the .com and the .es for the same domain name.

If you owned Fabricacion (.) com, would you try to sell it to the owner of the .es? Or would you try to buy the .es domain?

Trying to sell the name to the owner of Fabricacion.es is a good idea, but it will only be of value of Fabricacion.es is currently in use. Unfortunately, a domainer seems to own it. He might buy it, but keep in mind he is trying to do the same thing you are-- sell to a developer.

Europeans aren't as hooked on .com as Americans. I don't know what the exact situation is in Spain with .com. You should find this out. If .com isn't popular then the .es owner probably isn't losing much traffic. You have a better chance of a sale too if the .es owner has a strong international presence. This doesn't really apply here though because the owner of the .es name is another domainer.

I would try and sell the name to some sort of manufacturing company in the United States or Mexico if no one in Spain is interested. Think about all the manufacturing that is outsourced to Mexico.

The other thing I just realized is that the correct spelling of your domain is actually "fabricaciรณn." A quick check shows that fabricaciรณn.com is already registered. IDN .coms haven't been around for that long, so I don't know how fabricaciรณn.com will affect your name's value. A buyer might want your name, the IDN or both.

I didn't notice that. It's actually pretty interesting. One thing I noticed though that is that most of the results for "fabricacion" are actually "fabricaciรณn." In my Google.es search, Google delivered the exact same number of results for each variation. This tells me that the search engine treats the different spellings as the same word.

Your name probably benefits from more type-in traffic than fabricaciรณn.com, but I'm not sure how potential Spanish-speaking buyers would respond to the misspelling. "Fabricaciรณn" is still the correct spelling and if Google treats it the same as "fabricacion" in the SERPs, I think many buyers would want a correct spelling.

But it all comes down to the buyer. IDNs are new so it's hard to tell which name is better. Both are excellent really. I think think your name is worth quite a bit, just pointing out that domaining is different now with IDNs added to the mix.
