Explanation for the sudden growth in this keyword?

Can anybody explain this sudden growth for searches with the keyword "imgsrc" that seemed to start in late 2006? Wordtracker predicts that this term is receiving 60,000+ searches every month!

Any ideas?

Yeah, I thought that might have something to do with it - but why would people be searching for the term and not just going directly to the URL?

I own the .com variant (currently parked) - I'm going to develop it though. Got any tips on SEO in this situation?

Some people get to my blog (4letternoob.com) by typing 4letternoob.com into Google. I know this because I get reports on how people found their way to my site..

I'm guessing it's people who have their homepage set as Google and are too lazy to use the URL -- or maybe don't know the difference (though highly doubt that in the case of a domainer-focussed site like mine).

Did you register the name before they did the .ru? That would pretty much guarantee a not in bad faith ruling -- in which case I'd recommend offering it to them for sale. They're obviously bringing in good money with that kind of an Alexa rank!

Well, it was registered in '95 but I only got hold of it recently in a pre-release auction. I would prefer to just develop it into an image hosting application myself though

I would get something going right away. If nothing else, install Wordpress and start blogging on image sources - or something like that. Or you can get a script for images - one that doesn't allow porn.
