Expired domains with traffic

Hi all!

I have a couple of questions, hope you guys can help out

1) How valuable are expired domain names with traffic from its previous sites? From the tool freshdrop.net, one can check out expired domains with high traffic and realize bids are high for such domain names. I was wondering how high should one bid up to.

2) How to monetise these domains? i am think of parking, selling and adsense. I wonder if there's any other ways.

You can monetize them by maybe building landing pages with YPN or Google ads. If they have traffic they could be worth some money.

This really depends on the traffic, the traffic source and what they are looking for.

If you get 10,000 visits a month but they are looking for Nepali basket weaving, which only has 1 advertiser paying $.01 a click, then you won't make much.

By contrast a site with 500 visitors looking for auto insurance quotes could make you a ton.

You really need to research where the traffic is coming from, and try to determine what they would be looking for. Then research how much advertisers are paying for that type of traffic.
