Evidence of registration

Hi guys,

I've been sending offer emails to potential end users to buy domain names I own the registration of and have had a good level of success.

However, a couple of people have accused me of being an overseas scam (cheek!)

To that end, where is the best place to obtain evidence of registration to send with my offer emails - would it simply be a screen shot from my GoDaddy account, or is there a good site which offers a neat little document.

Many thanks,

I've included my phone number and a link to my LinkedIn page in the descriptions of my past domain listings. Sometimes people feel better when they hear your voice, which can lead to more open communication and put potential buyers at ease.

How do you run a WhoIs search? I just tried on their webpage and it didn't have my name etc shown?

whois.com or who.is

There are a myriad of whois search tools at our disposal... these are the ones I use regularly:

freewho.com
whois.domaintools.com
whois.godaddy.com
whois.moniker.com

If you come across a prospect who is interested in purchasing your domain but who is skeptical about its ownership you can also send them an email from the domain in question. Being willing to complete the transaction through a platform they are familiar with like GoDaddy or Escrow.com also may help them to feel more comfortable.

That said, having the WHOIS info reflect the name and contact info from your initial email is the most important factor.
