Hi
I'm running a system with very heavy traffic over just 1-4 domains. Those domains have in the area of 250-1000 records. We switched to EuroDNS at about two months back. Since then we've had numerous problems, wildcards not being recognized properly, us being given access to their underlying DNS partner, those systems not talking together properly.
Overall it has worked, but there has been several issues along the way that has caused downtime for us due to DNS issues - something I'd really like just to work. Now, I can accept there being problems as long as we're able to get hold of support quickly and have it fixed. We've currently got a couple sites down due to some DNS issues - I mailed them saturday and I have yet to receive any reply, including my followup email. Phone support is non-existant. Unfortunately this is not the first time. Earlier I had a case of total blackout of all our domains where I sent them several emails marked with "Urgent!", I never received any replies whatsoever, the domains worked after a day or so by themselves.
Anyways, I really like the EuroDNS administration interface. Due to the number of records we have loading a BIND record is a must for us, or at the least, an API interface. EuroDNS has this, and it works for the most time. But the lack of support when it's really needed is an absolute killer for us.
I realize that due to EuroDNS' pricing structure, we're a very small customer money wise, but we utilize the system to a high extent. I've offered several times that we'd like to pay an extra fee, as long as we have access to priority support.
What alternatives do I have to EuroDNS? We need to have API/BIND loading functionality, we must be able to create a domain and setup everything before making the actual transfer, we absolutely cannot risk downtime due to DNS transfers. We need to know support exists, including on weekends. Sending a support email on a friday and receiving a response next wednesday is not acceptable.
Again, we don't mind paying a premium for these services, on top of the registration fees.
