Hey, i use estibot to appraise domains
Now i'm wondering, if these appraisals are legit?
Is Estibot a good way to appraise domains? Or not?

What would be a good way to appraise a domain then?

There so many factors involved, among which:
  • Experience
  • Gut feeling
  • Research
  • Comparables sales
  • Overall health of the extension
  • Market relevance
  • Brandability
In general appraisals are pointless if there is no buyer. The ultimate price will depend a lot on the motivation of the buyer and the skills of the seller. But the quality of the domain is paramount.

I'd say hit that bong (avatar) three times more and listen to your inner voice.

Most people say auto-appraisals are crap. That is true of several online appaisers that substantially over-value domains. Estibot is pretty good at some domains, and not so good at others, but better than other auto-appraisals. If you use it judiciously as just one of the tools to help you form an opinion of a domain's worth, it's worth using. Each domain's value is different in different situations... even at the same time. What may be worth $100 to a domainer wanting "wholesale" pricing in a Domains Wanted ad, might be worth $1000 to an end-user looking for exactly what you have.

The true value of a domain name is what someone is willing to pay for it. Unless you have a very high quality desirable domain you usually will receive reseller priced offers unless marketing directly to end users. If so just put yourself in the business owners shoes when considering a realistic end user price. I've used estibot in the past and liked my appraisals much better :).

I just tried Estibot for the first time on a 5-letter VCVCV domain I just purchased: edofo.com

It said it's word $0. That seems unlikely, no? Could a 5 letter, easily pronounceable domain really be worthless? I wonder what factors Estibot takes into account.

I think it appraises by the keywords.
Mine got appraised for $700.
Because it got 368k searches monthly worldwide.

i think that estibot is appraisal system for eBay sales domains.
The age of my domain travelcountryclub.com is almost 3 month.
DomainEstimator.com appraise it in $12,257. Estibot - $0.
What the difference?
