Question: What happens if I purchase a transfer, and it fails due to the 45 60-day registry lock?

This recently happened to me with invoice # 9698003, and I'm not sure what happens next. Since the transfer is already paid for, I assume (hoping) I'll have the option to re-enter the new auth code @ epik.com/domain-transfer/status, when the lock is lifted in December? Or will the transfer request expire by then?

This question relates to this promo in that I have .com's that are still under the 45 day transfer lock that I'd also like to transfer to epik; and I could take advantage of this whale if the above assumption is correct.

If attempting to transfer domains still under transfer lock would cause to much of a hassle, maybe a recommendation would be to put discount epik transfers on my holiday list? Not sure if the regular Santa can grant such a thing, but surely domain Santa can. I don't suppose you have an old Santa costume in your closet @Rob Monster, or do ya?

You can pre-pay any transfer and add the auth code later. People do it quite often. The price is set.

Obviously your first choice is to keep the price and transfer alive.

But as you use Epik more and more and poke around a bit .. you'll see that there a lot of very smart/clever things under the hood (unfortunately they are not always obvious or well documented/explained .. lol). Their system is pretty smart .. if you attempt a transfer and it fails .. then after it fails, you can go to your "Transfer Status" page and filter by "Failed" transfers. There you can "Retry" or "Cancel" .. when you select cancel it actually automatically credits your account! No need to call support! (Pretty sure this happened to me once a while back)


ADDED: Note .. it also has a place where you can change the transfer code if you originally made a typo, or if the old one expired and got replaced by a new one.
