Entrepreneur Magazine Slips Up
In a shockingly poor writeup of content management systems, Entrepreneur magazine has just published a tent pole article on CMS applications. The page 95 breakdown of Drupal Vs. Joomla is quite badly researched. I am certain some of the information is not quite accurate. I know for experience its references and assertions in this article to using Joomla are not true.
I have experienced the motif of a print magazine publishing a spurious article of a certain bent to attract page views and news stand sales. But the CMS article “The Juice behind Your Website” seems woefully uninformed. The article front page shows a leggy woman seated with a laptop pouring coffee into a cup onto the floor. To say that “there’s something wrong with this picture” is understating my concern.
My use of Joomla has evolved over the past four or five years. It takes time to learn that the Joomla community expects investment of time on the front end to understand its capabilities and features. From the remarks and makeup of the article I would suggest that Eric Weinger, the author, has never used any, not to mention all of these CMS apps before. I suspect that Drupal may have “sponsored” some coffee dates with the author, to say the least.
