eNom PDQ or AWBS

Hi,

I'm thinking of making a domain registration company but I would like to know, which one do you think is better. The eNom PDQ or AWBS? I don't want to have to put $100 in my account all the time but the eNom PDQ looks so bad. Any bad experiences with AWBS?

Please if you have any comments post them, it will help me out a lot!

I use AWBS. You need to pay them $100 every year to use the PDQ and what is worse, it is not SE friendly which means your site is hard to get ranked high if it does get ranked at all.
With AWBS, you can customize whatever you want and only need to pay a one time fee, and small amount of anual fee and maybe a template.
You might save yourself some time using PDQ but do you know your customers can access their accounts on any PDQ interfaces on the internet?
That's all I can give you right now, leaving for others to update.

I found AWBS to be a bit of a rip off. All the eNom resellers and eNom hosting will be purchased from AWBS's eNom account rather than yours unless you change it in their hard looking control panel.

Are you sure?
I need to setup the enom API before I run this script and I am pretty sure it is using my own account since you know how much balance you have, not others.

All depends, wich type of buisiness you want to setup:

A) Domain trading buisiness (buy & sell)
B) End user register

For A the choice should be eNom due to the open push policy to other eNom resellers.

For B my choice is WWD as they offer a really nice storefront, and plenty of services besides the domain regs.
(For discount WWD accounts see my sig., the price could be eaven lowered depending on your buisiness plans - Just PM if interested.)

But as always each one has its pro/contra.

Think twice before entering the domain registrar buisiness, as it is real hard work to promote your site and drive customers there.
It is a REAL HARD COMPETITIVE buisiness.

Well I would like to sell .ca domains and WWD doesn't sell them. The site would basically be a local business and I have a few customers already that would come to me.

I would go with eNom... Bigger company (If not, well, but put it this way... Ive heard of eNom... and not AWBS...)

That's true that eNom is bigger but they charge some pretty bad transaction fees. It's $0.95 + 3% of each transaction. That mean's if I had say a $6.95 account I would have to charge for at least like $8.25 minimum and I would only make a few cents. That's what I'm thinking of going with AWBS and using like PayPal.

I think you still don't get it. AWBS (the former drams system) is a complex script can be customized to process and manage domain and hosting reselling business using any accounts of almost any major reseller companies.
Like this one, a customized domain and hosting reselling site using AWBS script.

If you don't do hosting business, you can go with their Domain only Edition which is cheaper.
I am not a reseller of them so I recommend their service by my own experiences.
You can check everything out at awbs.com. Make sure to find an evaluating version first. I didn't know that when I was testing the script so I used the hosting solution first and then paid the full license.
