Hey guys just a quick question, i have had over 3 end user sales for geo names in the $xxx range so the payment method was through paypal, however we agreed on the price etc.. and as soon as i send a paypal invoice they even do not reply or they reply they are no longer interested. on my paypal invoice it states that no refunds will be given after the name is transfered etc.. i was just wondering if people are thinking its a scam with it saying no refunds and because i emailed them ? what do you think ? or would you just give them your paypal id instead of an invoice.

Thank you in advance to everyone.

Transfer the domains to Epik.com and sell them instantly through your Epik marketplace. You can then take your cash out with only a 5% commission. Many more buyers will be comfortable purchasing directly through the registrar than just paying you by Paypal and trusting you to transfer the domain after they have already paid you.

Is 5% really the commission for Epik? Never bother to check them out. always stuck with the "Big boys" but at 5% I'll have to check them out as opposed to the usual 20% commission over at Godaddy and Sedo and Namejet. never knew all this.

7.5% at Name Silo, and they even sell it for you while you are asleep. There is also a massive range of payment options for your customer, including Bitcoin. A lot of people think that PayPal is the scammers payment system, so you might be safer offering Payoneer or some other reputable method if you want to make a direct sale.

7.5% at Namesilo?
and 5% at Epik?

what exactly do these companies do for those commissions? do they have auction marketplaces like godaddy or Sedo or do you have to bring the buyer to your domain's page on these sites?

Epik instantly opens an account for the buyer and moves the domain into their account immediately after they pay. Neither You or the buyer have to do anything at all. You just get an email that you have money in your account! The buyer gets to start using the domain the second they pay for it. What could possibly be better than that?

hmmmm very interesting! but they don't have an auction marketplace like Godaddy though. so it's much like having an efty page except it's free plus you host your domain with them.

why are they so cheap with their % and Godaddy and Sedo is asking for more than double?
I don't get it.

but I will check it out now. get them under my radar. Thanks Korganian

Epik's CEO has explained that his strategy is to let domainers operate at Epik's actual cost in exchange for acquiring new retail customers from domainers sales. This strategy eliminates the need for Epik to spend money on paid advertising to acquire new retail customers. It's a mutually beneficial relationship for domainers and Epik.

Hi

if you didn't get paid, then you didn't have any sales

but, to answer your question, i'd just send them my PP email address and forget the invoice unless it's requested by the buyer.

Good Luck!

imo...

would you just give them your paypal id

Give them a choice...let them tell you what and how they want to proceed. (I use the epik marketplace because I don't do ppal direct...epik will take it for me)

It has nothing to do with paypal... i had over 4 failed sales last month... Only one stated that he does not have the money but will buy if it is still available in the future.

Ask around and i have read that lots of domainers have experienced this same problem

An ice-cream sundae to go with it ;) ...Heck. For both of us ;)

Got a list of backed out buyers over the last 14 years but the majority have come from third party aftermarkets mainly Sedo etc... not sure if this is due to the anonymous factor they have there? Kinda not much penalty for someone to back out, maybe they close their account, maybe not, maybe they create a new account.

Last few years haven't had anyone back out but that could be attributed to doing my own sales pages 100%, almost all offers being end users due to not promoting domains to domainers, wrapping deals quick before they could gain any second thoughts.

I've taken like 10k through paypal from an end user once. Think it's safe if you can confirm basic info or prove a real business your dealing with but I still prefer using an escrow service https://escrow.payoneer.com/ etc... as lowest I sell any domain for is high xxx and the buyer pays the escrow fees anyway so think a safer option. Instant funds are nice but escrow transactions ACH to bank within a couple days so quick enough even though not instant.
