i thought it would be real nice to share some of the emails i receive from fellow domainers trying to sell their crappy names.

hopefully, some of you will read these and stop sending or see the mistakes they make so you won't make them too.

here is one from Andrew Brad, and if he is a member here...he's a clown! why? because he included every other email address he sent this mail to. thus one could harvest his list and spam them too.

To whom it may concern,

The premium generic aged domain FREDLOYAINSURANCE.NET is up for sale and I am emailing several parties that have registered similar domains OR use "[fredloya], [fredloya insurance], [loya insurance], [fred loya claims], [fredloya locations] etc." as keywords in their advertising campaigns. This is a 6-year old domain, with no drops since it was registered in 2006.

According to the Google Traffic Estimator the keywords ‘Fredloya Insurance’ receive over 40,500 searches every month, thus making this a high SEO premium domain worth thousands of dollars.

Right now, the asking price for FredLoyaInsurance.net is just $250, and is available on a first-come-first-served basis. Yes, you read it right, $250 ONLY.

This is a great opportunity to acquire a great domain at a throw-away price. If you have any questions don't hesitate to send me an email or call me directly at +91. 939-2774-412.

All transactions will held either via Paypal or via the secure services of Escrow.com.

Best regards,

Andrew Brad

He replied to my generous (lol) offer and I told him the same thing.

I checked the whois on the domains and it wasn't updated recently. Maybe Moniker account was hijacked.

Just to see his next step, tell him you're interested but only in the LLL.nets. Offer him $1,500 for them all. If he accepts, you pretty much know they're stolen in some capacity.

I love it when they try and sell you a domain with your trademarked company name in it. Great way to get paid zilch and have the domain taken from you.

He replied to my message saying it wasn't stolen and asked me why I thought that. And wanted to know where he could sell the domains at. I didn't bother replying it. Someone with those domains should know where to sell.

Hello, We understand that you are the owner of the domain name fingerbuffet.com,

We have a domain for sale which you maybe interested in - LibertyAdvisors.com. Since it is related to the keywords in your domain name, we thought that you might be interested in acquiring this one as well.

This is a 7 year old domain, with no drops since it was registered.

We are only asking $488 for this premium SEO domain. If you are interested, please let us know. Else, we apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Regards,

So he assumes that firstly because I own a domain with the keyword Finger that I must be potentially interested in all other domains in any niche with that keyword?

The domain in the message body (LibertyAdvisors.com) doesn't even match the domain in the title!

These idiots always send the emails with prices ending in 88 like it's some magical deal closing price.

Doesn't help that the domain in the subject doesn't match the domain in the email.

I received the same email from: [email protected] with the messed up domain in the body.

There should be something we can do to report these spammers & make it stop. They need to be held responsible & prosecuted for the spam they blast out.

Looks like our friend Alex is back at it again too.

Alex is no friend of mine. lol
Lol Nor mine. He's sent me 8 emails from different domains in the past two weeks about a single dropping domain. Maybe he's hopin' I'll get so sick of the emails that I'll relent and click on the backorder link (yeah right). Here's the domains he's spammed me from:
documenthandlers.com
indialabels.com
mark-sallingworld.com
esportsproduct.com
snapwink.com
aemproducts.com
thetailors.com
prowizards.com

All pretty much the same format and all for the same (worthless) domain.

I know how to reply these guys:

"Have you had your domain names evaluated in the past? I mean domain
appraisals. Without valuation we cannot be sure in the sale price. It's very
important for me in terms of reselling too. But we must engage a valuation
company with REAL manual service. So I will only accept valuations from independent sources I and my partners trust. I heard many appraisal companies often made inaccurate appraisals. I will only accept appraisals from independent sources I trust. To avoid mistakes I asked domain experts about reputable appraisal companies in a forum (link)

Just check this posting.

If the appraisal comes higher you can adjust your asking price accordingly. I also hope you can give me 10% - 15% discount of the appraised value.

After I get an appraisal from you we'll continue our negotiations."

:)

That's really like begging for money. It's so sad, pathetic, and embarrassing at the same time because domainers are lumped together in the same flock. It's like picking up a bottlecap in the street. Then knocking doors in every home saying, 'i have a bottlecap here that you might be interested in, i'm asking $400 dollars... give me some money... i beg you, please'.

This is why, if you are going to do this same emailing stuff evenif you have good domains to sell, it will make you cringe realizing you are doing the same thing as these losers do.

Exactly, even more pathetic is that he says he need money to renew a 'big' list that probably should be dropped. Most likely hasn't turned any profit yet. He's just looking for another bigger sucker but until then the joke is on him.

Hello, I am writing you to let you know about a domain I'm selling; that I've had several offers on. AFQ.com Asking 25k AFQ.com is a Premium 3 letter dot com domain name starting with 'A' Every domain portfolio should have at least a few 2 or 3 letter dot com domains. AFW.com for example sold recently for $125,000. Check out the sale on DNJournal.com. There are a Limited number of these acronyms available and eventually the price should go up as they are all bought and branded; supply and demand. There are far fewer 3 letter dot com domains that start with 'a' We are able to pay all escrow fees at Escrow.com. All offers are appreciated. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions either by email or call my cell at 910-540-7733. Could you please let me know either way? thank you for your time. Thomas Burch

Question

I agree with a lot of what is posted on here, that many of these domains are hideous and that some of the wording leaves a little something to be desired.

However, I do not understand why a domain like AFQ.com is considered a crappy domain? It appears that the sender is pitching to other domainers and not to endusers, which IMO is fair enough for that domain. Surely, some domainers could be interested in acquiring it despite the grammar errors in the email? Unless you think it's a scam?

IMO this thread could benefit from separating more between really crappy domain sales pitches sent by mistake to other domainers and a regular attempt at selling a domain.

However, I do not understand why a domain like AFQ.com is considered a crappy domain?
Absolutely correct, this one is not crappy. But it's the exception.

It appears that the sender is pitching to other domainers and not to endusers, which IMO is fair enough for that domain. Surely, some domainers could be interested in acquiring it despite the grammar errors in the email? Unless you think it's a scam?
It is spam for the following reasons:
  • it's untargeted.
  • it's repetitive: I have received that spam from the same person for the same domains several times in recent months. One single spam is one spam too much but is he going to bug us until the end of times ?
  • and it's sent to potentially hundreds of domainers.
And needless to say I never game him prior permission to send to me.
Just because it's a domainer sending to other domainers doesn't make it less spammy.

IMO this thread could benefit from separating more between really crappy domain sales pitches sent by mistake to other domainers and a regular attempt at selling a domain.
As you can see it was just another spam albeit not the worst.

I find it funny that this thread "Emails from domainers selling crap names", almost always appear right next to the thread entitled "How to find potential End-Users?".

It's almost like the guys from the other thread, are talking about ways on how to spam the people who get upset in this thread. LOL
