One thing that got me curious is how an end user feels if a "domainer" emails them out of the blue. You know, something like "Hey Joe, I got this domain name like yours that's hot. I'm selling it at X price and thought you'd be interested".
Now, some people will, to be expected, be upset about that. What I hadn't expected is it turns out that feeling is rather shared, as rather heavily discussed in one marketing forum I visit.
That's just an example, of course, and not necessarily reflective of "society" at hand. If anything, that should tell you how lots of people feel when you do that to them.
