Email monetization by PC

Hi,
When I logged in my account, Ive noticed a msg, that Parking Crew is offering new form of monetization. Email monetization. Can somebody explain that in a simple way?

Our email monetization service helps you to make money from emails sent to your parked domains while at the same time it helps fight the worldwide spam issue. When you enable email monetization, your domains profit from two additional revenue streams:

- data revenue: spam emails are separated from legitimate emails in real time and information about the senders of these spam emails is sold to security companies. This is the first time you can actually make money from the spam coming to your parked domains

- auto-reply revenue: legitimate emails receive an auto-reply featuring a prominent ad

Please note: In order to profit from our email monetization feature, your domains need to resolve to our nameservers. By setting 'Email Monetization' to 'allow' you activate this monetization feature for all existing and new domains in your account resolving on our nameservers.

Ive have accepted email monetization and now statistics are frozen??!!

Same here - accepted and stats frozen. Pretty sure PC will sort it soon they seem to be quick with this sort of stuff.

Have to admit I don't 'fully' understand the new monitization but it looks pretty innovative and not something I've seen before - so credit to them for trying to squeeze more $$$ for us domainers.

Does 'resolve to our nameservers' mean this won't work with traffic sent from Above??

I'd like to see samples of those prominent ads. They should be to purchase that domain, and then when on the purchase page, there could be a link to a more general PC ad. We should also get commissions for any domain sales made through these prominent ads.

just a quick headsup: Indeed we have a bit of a stats backlog for May 7th that is currently being imported. This has nothing to do with the email monetization though

We will show the email monetization stats separately and that feature will be rolled out in the course of today.

Basically what happens is this: When an email is sent to one for your domains that is parked with us through our nameservers, the email monetization solution is trying to monetize this email in two ways:


-by selling information about the sender to security companies thus helping them to combat spam
-by generating an auto-reply to legitimate senders that features a prominent ad which can generate revenues for you

This email anti spam security is pretty expensive.

Hi Guys,

since we work with a partner on this who does the email monetization part, we don't have much insight into how exactly pricing is determined when selling the information to anti spam companies. Just like with parking, our low overhead cost structure allows us to pass in excess of 90% of these revenues on to you.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work with Above.com as for this feature to work, a domain needs to be using our nameservers.
