hi,

i've some email database over 20k or so. would like to get suggestions how can i use them, few month back i've mailed from same domain for whom content i mailed. my host warn me that he recieves some complaints of the same.

I immediately stopped mailing.

Now seeking suggestions what to do so that domain didn't get blacklisted.

one idea could be using another domain in different host. but i am afraid i will still get warning and that domain value will go down.

Seeking your suggestions for the same... I mean Legal and Best method

Thanks

If you have built a legit, opt-in, verfied emailaddress list yourself and you offer the possibility to opt-out with each newsletter you send, then you should not be worried too much about being blacklisted. Blacklisting mostly doesn't occur after sending 20k emails, you should worry about that if you're sending ten times as much :) However, your ISP may dislike the load on his SMTP server.

If you have bought or were given for free the 20k emailadresses then simply don't email them. If you are sending 20k unsollicited emails (and doing that more then once) you've got larger things to be afraid of than blacklists ;)

Yes, i've verified mail list, i've removed (all support@ tlds kind of ids and mail ids asking for verification replies) from it.
and added them in phplist software by tincan. Yes, Unsubscribe link is there.

BUT my host, sever guys said he is getting too many complaints, if number of complaints increases he will suspend account.

@NVD thanks, will read it

I've never had complaints sent to my ISP after running an email campaign. Are you sure the recipients opted-in for your email campaign and thus really want to receive your mailing? Because it doesn't make sense. Why would someone send a complaint to your ISP after receiving an email he/she subscribed to because they want to receive it? That's just not adding up, is it?

Yeh, make sure they ACTUALLY asked to receive the emails, such as signing up and didnt tick a box to say no..

You can't just send out emails people did not opt into. There are several sites which are 3rd-party e-mailers, they will send out your email from them to people who opt in to multiple sites 3rd party contact things.

Its all explained in the e-book.

Make sure that you have confirmed they're opt in (if you bought the database, don't trust the guy that sold it to you as he's probably lying) and also include an opt out link in your emails. :)

Be legit and you can make $$$

Unfortunately there are a bazillion email lists on the market. Any list you can buy is simply trash and just opens you up to problems.

If you are developing a list your absolute best bet is to devise smart marketing techniques to opt-in your database. Once that is done you can enlist a company to represent your list to the direct marketing marketplace. They do all the work for you and take a reasonable commission from revenues generated. (Usually 20%).

I opt in lists on a daily basis and I've found that the most successful method is to define who makes up the list and determine what offers will be the most attractive to them.

Finding the right offers is the key and if you search around a bit you'll find affiliate programs, co-registration, ppc etc offers that you can utilize to get the job done. and you'll make a bit of money as well.

This may ruffle a bunch of feathers to many members of namepro's, but if you truly want to go the legit route...stay away from the programs that are designed around people simply clicking on links and getting reimbursed for doing so. It's make believe traffic and if your serious about your business it's not the way to fly.

Here's some final food for thought...a good, opted-in email list can still command anywhere from $150 to $300 per thousand on a rental basis. It amazes me how many website owners let so much profit slip through their fingers.

One last thought, if you really plan it out and can capture not only email addresses but snail mail as well then you may just have a cash cow. (Matching lists will generate roughly 5 times as much as their email counterpart).

this is spam btw, if people complained it's simply they don't want to receive from you or from your colleague. just delete them from your computer.

I faced the same issue earlier, and the real problem is sending directly from your own domain without proper setup.Changing domains or hosts wonโ€™t fix itโ€”you may still get complaints and risk blacklisting again.

What worked for me was switching to Bulk Email Sending Services, specifically that of DigitalAkaโ„ข, which helped manage sending limits and reputation properly.
  • Clean your email list before sending
  • Start with smaller batches (warm-up)
  • Send only to users with some level of consent
Also avoid domain switching, use a proper service and follow safe sending practices to protect your reputation.
