Email domain typos.

We have a whole industry here based around people typing in .com when they really want .net or other cc/tlds, and common typos of popular names. If people are making these mistakes in browsers I'm sure they're making it in email too. Ever hear of anyone setting up global MX records in any of these domains to capture misdirected emails?

I'm sure the legality of it is very questionable, but could lead to some pretty interesting results too...

I had a name getting 4000 emails a day with catch-all. aol.com typo

Could be a good way to save all email addresses and use them later on for spam, sales, affiliates, advertising, you name it.

That's excellent advice. Register a typo of a trademarked company name, collect email addresses, and then send spam to them.
