We have a whole industry here based around people typing in .com when they really want .net or other cc/tlds, and common typos of popular names. If people are making these mistakes in browsers I'm sure they're making it in email too. Ever hear of anyone setting up global MX records in any of these domains to capture misdirected emails?
I'm sure the legality of it is very questionable, but could lead to some pretty interesting results too...
